The Social Value Support will provide assistance to the Social Impact Lead in leading Metrolink's Social Impact agenda, facilitating collaboration with all MetroLink Directorate functions to identify and realise opportunities for MetroLink to be more sustainable, efficient and innovative.
The role holder will be required to provide support in the establishment of the Sustainability function within MetroLink Directorate and will work cross functionally and with contractor(s) and consultants to help identify, design and plan for innovative social value solutions to drive social impact throughout MetroLink.
The role holder shall assist in the establishment of the social impact and performance metrics based on the stated objectives for MetroLink using relevant global benchmarks such as the United Nation's Sustainable Development Goals and leading practice while also providing support in overseeing the design and implementation of the performance measurement framework and activities to enable MetroLink to achieve or outperform those targets. The role holder will also require contract management and supply chain engagement to monitor, manage and report against social impact within work packages. This includes technically assuring activities led by contractors.
You'll be responsible for:
- Supporting the development of a social value, strategy, framework and implementation plan to verify the social value baseline including a local needs assessment, gap analysis and maturity assessment.
- Managing the development of social value learning and development materials tailored to Metrolink's requirements.
- Managing social value monitoring and reporting across the programme, including building in-house monitoring and reporting tools for Social Impact. Supporting social impact lead to provide case studies and story-telling of activities across the supply chain.
- Supporting Metrolink with delivery of social value initiatives aligned to strategy and implementation plan.
- Managing document control and outputs from the social impact team.
- Managing the development of a social value delivery, measurement, procedures, and technical standards documents.
- Generating templates and proformas to collate data and provide support to onsite team to deliver outcomes.
- Managing author of the Social Value Handbook and Social Value pledge to support the Metrolink supply chain to deliver on social value objectives.
- Supporting the Metrolink Directorate on PQQ and ITT evaluations for Social Value and embed into procurement stages.
- Agreeing social value requirements for design process, commitments to outcomes and recording and reporting of social value outcomes.
- Day to day liaison with operational stakeholders to facilitate the delivery of social value outcomes.
You'll need to have:
- More than 5 years' experience designing and delivering social and community impact initiatives, with a strong focus on working with communities to create lasting positive outcomes
- Further demonstrated experience/knowledge of the following is required:
- Proven social value/community/school outreach/ education delivery experience, with a demonstrable track record of achieving results.
- Proven social value/community impact reporting experience or equivalent.
- Proven data analytics experience.
- Proven ability to influence, engage and build advocacy with stakeholders.
- Responsible for managing partnerships and budgets.
- Credible subject matter expert on key social value/community impact issues and activities, including for example employment and skills development, education, volunteering, crime prevention, diversity and inclusion, community engagement, environmental stewardship etc - and appreciate their relevance to the transport industry.
