Responsibilities
The Associate Director - Environment will lead the growth and delivery of our environmental services offering across the Irish, and potentially UK, markets, driving business development, client engagement, and technical delivery excellence. This role combines strategic vision with hands-on leadership, ensuring high-quality outcomes, strong client relationships, and achievement of commercial objectives. The successful candidate will inspire and guide a multidisciplinary team while positioning KEO as a trusted partner in environmental services. with opportunities to expand into broader consulting services as the practice grows

To be successful in this dynamic opportunity, we envision that you integrate effectively with other senior team members to win and deliver on business effectively. May provide formal supervision to individual employees within single functional or operational area. Prepares and delivers performance appraisal for staff. Mentor and coach team members to further develop competencies, will include 10-15 years' career experience partnered with a BEng/MSc - Environmental Engineering, and CEnv or Similar Waste Management or Construction Management and Membership of a Chartered Society.

We envisage success in this role to include:
- Clear vision of opportunities and target markets whilst also expanding into new business lines. This will involve driving awareness of the Meehan Green / KEO brand within Ireland, potentially UK and the expansion of our existing service lines into these markets. In addition, provides support to global service needs where required.
- Identification of opportunities and prioritization of the tailored approach to delivery.
- Leads or inputs into the divisional business development strategies and facilitates implementation across teams.
- Nurturing of key client, internal and other collaborative relationships.
- Leads/supports with major bids or proposals related to the area of operation in line with the divisional business strategy.
- Regular attendance at marketing events/conferences to build a network of relationships to assist in the growth of the business. The candidate should be able to demonstrate his/her ability to grow a large database of contacts of professional networks and be comfortable with networking and public speaking at large events.
- Delivering technical presentations to clients with limited support or as part of a larger KEO initiative.
- Ability to be flexible with travel and working hours as required.
- Ability to liaise with Government departments and key industry organisations relevant to key opportunities.
- Comprehensive understanding of the applicable Regulations and Standards, and international best practice relevant to the Irish and selected target markets.
- Assisting in the preparation of or contribution to bid proposals for the Department, and for cross discipline bids within other KEO Divisions.
- Advising with respect to technical deliverables including technical reports and technical presentations.
- Supporting supervision, co-ordination and advice to team members.
- Championing Meehan Green / KEO business systems and processes.
- Supports the Directors, Associate Directors and Regional Managers in technical and commercial management and operations of the team, when required.
- Leads and/or assists with the recruitment and selection process for discipline-specific technical staff.
- Provides advice, regulatory consulting and liaison across the region and globally, as required.
- Provides leadership in the exchange of discipline-specific knowledge relating to current international best practice, and the identification and adoption of new technology and trends and appreciates the basic technical principles and drivers of other disciplines.
Qualifications

- Proven business development track record and the ability to demonstrate past achievement in this regard.
- Requires advanced knowledge of portfolio development, client relationship and financial terms and principles. Conducts moderate financial forecasts and analysis.
- A service specialism e.g. air quality, acoustics, biodiversity will be viewed favourably
- Intermediate skills with Microsoft Office Suite.
- The ability to demonstrate the ability to grow a large database of contacts of professional networks and be comfortable with networking and public speaking at large events.
- Technical background in waste management applications.
