Clinical Tutor/Registrar in Endocrinology, 0.8FTE, Fixed Term Contract

The School of Medicine at the University of Galway are looking for suitably qualified and experienced candidate for a Clinical Tutor and Registrar post in on a fixed-term, Part-time, 0.8FTE basis for 6 months with 0.2FTE University- Clinical Tutor duties and 0.6FTE Clinical duties.

The successful post holder will serve the research and education needs in the Clinical Research Facility working with the Clinical Lead.

As a Registrar the successful candidates will be based in the Diabetes Department at Galway University Hospital and will participate in the delivery of diabetes clinics at Galway University Hospitals with a team of junior doctors. Clinics will include diabetes in pregnancy, fertility, reproductive endocrinology and pituitary medicine.

In addition to qualifications and experience relevant to the academic and research component described, candidates should have relevant clinical experience in endocrinology (at least 2 years post full registration, with or without 1 year at Registrar grade).
The successful candidates will be mentored and supervised by experienced University of Galway academic faculty in the area of Clinical Research and by highly experienced consultants in the area of diabetes/endocrinology. Salary: The appointment will be made on the Clinical Tutor salary scale: €70,276 - €102,619 per annum pro rata. The relevant salary scale will be determined based on candidate's experience and in accordance with the terms and conditions of the University's Remuneration policy. QA321-Remuneration-and-Payroll (This appointment will be made on the Clinical Tutor scale in line with current Government pay policy)
