Why this role exists

This role is responsible for supervising the warehouse operative team with the aim of the efficient receiving, handling, storing, packing and rotating stock thus ensuring that Brennan Company customers get the products they ordered, on time and in perfect condition.  

Tasks and Responsibilities

  • Supervise, motivate and support a team of Warehouse Operatives to ensure operational targets are achieved.

  • Act as the first point of contact for warehouse queries, providing day-to-day leadership, coaching and guidance.

  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives, identifying opportunities to improve efficiency, productivity, accuracy and warehouse performance.

  • Monitor warehouse KPIs and operational performance, implementing corrective actions and process improvements where required.

  • Oversee inventory control, stock accuracy, goods receiving and stock rotation processes to ensure compliance with company procedures.

  • Organise and deliver training, promote best practices and support the ongoing development of warehouse staff.

  • Maintain a strong presence on the warehouse floor, ensuring high standards of safety, housekeeping, quality and operational compliance.

  • Provide hands-on support with warehouse activities during peak periods, operational demands or employee absences as required.

  • Work closely with the Head of Operations and Logistics Compliance Manager to support business objectives, projects and continuous improvement activities.

  • Lead and support Lean projects and process improvement activities to optimise workflows and eliminate waste.

  • Complete daily/weekly temperature checks in accordance with agreed procedures 

  • Assign monthly expiring and expired stock checklists received from the Logistics Compliance Manager.  

  • Undertake any other duties and responsibilities reasonably required by the business.

SKILLS/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

  • Previous experience supervising or leading teams within a warehouse environment.

  • Proven ability to motivate, coach and develop employees while fostering a positive and high-performing team culture.

  • Experience identifying and implementing process improvements, efficiency initiatives or Lean working practices.

  • Strong organisation, problem-solving and decision-making skills with the ability to prioritise workloads in a fast-paced environment.

  • Excellent attention to detail and strong numerical skills.

  • Ability to analyse operational performance data and use KPIs to drive improvements and achieve business objectives.

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build effective working relationships at all levels.

  • IT literate with experience using warehouse management systems, barcode scanning technology and Microsoft Office applications.

  • Ability to work effectively under pressure and adapt to changing business needs and priorities.

  • Good understanding of inventory control, warehouse operations, health and safety requirements and quality standards.

  • Forklift licence desirable.

  • Full clean driving licence desirable.
