The Company

Tom Dempsey Flooring is an Oranmore-based flooring provider with over 35 years of experience. They are experts in the commercial and residential flooring sector and their team provides the complete service - advice, specification, design, preparation, installation, and after-sales. Products include flooring, carpets, rugs, vinyl and artificial grass.

The Role

The Company is seeking a friendly, motivated, and customer-focused Sales Advisor to join their flooring showroom team. Previous experience in flooring retail is an advantage, but they are equally interested in candidates with excellent customer service skills and a willingness to learn.

As a Flooring Sales Advisor, you will play a key role in creating a positive in-store experience, helping customers choose the right flooring solutions for their homes or businesses while delivering exceptional service that builds customer satisfaction and loyalty.

Key Responsibilities

· Welcome customers and provide a professional, friendly, and knowledgeable service.

· Assist customers with selecting the most suitable flooring products by asking the right questions and understanding their individual needs.

· Listen carefully to customers and offer expert advice on products, styles, and flooring solutions.

· Prepare accurate quotations and explain product options to help customers make informed decisions.

· Calculate flooring requirements from measurements and floor plans using metric dimensions.

· Accurately prepare and process sales orders from customer measurements.

· Ensure all customer information and orders are completed accurately.

· Maintain high standards of honesty, integrity, and professionalism in all customer interactions.

· Help maintain an attractive, well-presented showroom.

· Work collaboratively with colleagues to achieve sales targets and deliver excellent customer service.

Requirements

· Excellent communication and customer service skills.

· Strong attention to detail and accuracy.

· Good numerical skills with the ability to work confidently with metric measurements.

· Good spatial awareness and the ability to interpret floor plans and measurements.

· Positive attitude with a willingness to learn.

· Honest, Reliable and Professional

Desirable:

· Previous retail sales experience.

· Experience in flooring, interiors, home improvement, or a related industry.

· Experience preparing quotations and processing sales orders.

Experience:

• Retail sales: 1 year (preferred)

Language:

• English (required)
