Solar Installation Electrician
Overview
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Solar Installation Electrician with a minimum of 2 years of experience in solar photovoltaic (PV) installations. The successful candidate will be responsible for installing, testing, commissioning, and maintaining residential, commercial, and industrial solar energy systems while ensuring compliance with all electrical codes, safety regulations, and company standards.
Key Responsibilities
Install, wire, and commission solar PV systems, including rooftop and ground-mounted installations.
Perform electrical work related to solar installations, including AC and DC wiring, conduit installation, inverters, switchgear, and monitoring systems.
Read and interpret electrical drawings, schematics, and installation plans.
Conduct system testing, troubleshooting, and fault diagnosis.
Ensure all installations comply with local electrical codes, regulations, and industry standards.
Complete electrical inspections and assist with system commissioning.
Maintain a safe working environment and follow all health and safety procedures.
Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and installation teams to ensure projects are completed on schedule.
Prepare installation reports, test records, and documentation as required.
Perform maintenance and service work on existing solar systems when needed.
Requirements
Essential Qualifications
Minimum 2 years of proven experienceas a Solar Installation Electrician or in a similar solar electrical role.
Qualified Electrician with relevant electrical certification
QC number
Strong knowledge of solar PV systems, electrical theory, and renewable energy technologies.
Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and technical drawings.
Experience with AC/DC electrical systems, inverters, battery storage systems, and distribution boards.
Familiarity with electrical codes, standards, and safety regulations.
Valid driver’s license.
Ability to work at heights and in varying weather conditions.
Preferred Qualifications
Solar PV installation certification.
Experience with battery energy storage systems (BESS).
Working-at-heights certification.
First Aid certification.
Experience with commercial-scale solar projects.
