The Media Quality & Design Coordinator role is essential to our content development efforts, with responsibility for defining, assuring and raising standards for all learning and support content across DBS.
This role sits within our Creative Studios team, and supports our Centre for Learning Excellence (CLX) and wider learning and teaching teams in the delivery of outstanding learning experiences. This is an exciting opportunity for an ambitious and passionate graduate who is detail-oriented, has an intuitive sense of what good looks like, and can balance between pace and perfection.

Core Responsibilities
Quality Assurance
- Conduct quality checks on different pieces of content at various stages of development, and assist the Creative Studios Lead to coordinate same among the wider team.
- Support the definition of best practice in the design and creation of multimedia content.
- Design and implementation of processes and procedures for assuring the quality of multimedia content.
- Support the adoption of standards, accessibility, and best practice for a range of learner needs across the college, through training, engagement and championing successes.
Content Design
- Collaborate with lecturers and wider college support staff colleagues to identify, develop and produce audiovisual assets for learning content, including, but not limited to: slide decks, videos, posters, video transcript and caption files, and graphics.
- Create and maintain templates, catalogues, file systems and style guidelines for audiovisual assets across a range of applications and use cases.
- Liaise with Creative Studios Lead regarding due dates, scheduling, capacity and flag any concerns where necessary.
Continuous Improvement
- Report regularly on quality-related activity and progress.
- Work closely with colleagues across Creative Studios, CLX, and wider college teams to ensure consistency in all aspects of our content and aligned with our content guidelines.
- Engage with colleagues and stakeholders to identify, develop and implement continuous improvement initiatives related to our learning content.
Teamwork and Culture
- Contribute to the culture, performance and ambitions of the Creative Studios and CLX teams.
- Support the continuous improvement of the college's content development process.
- Explore, identify and implement emerging technology and use of AI in education and content development.
- Ensure that there's a strong and collaborative working culture within the team as it grows.

Person Specification
Essential Attributes
- Qualified to honours degree level or equivalent experience in graphic design or similar visual and design related disciplines.
- Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite (specifically Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign).
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (specifically PowerPoint).
- Excellent command of the English language.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Excellent attention to detail.
- Ability to work on own initiative and to tight deadlines.
- Ability to work in a busy environment.
- Strong commitment to higher education.
Desirable attributes
- Enthusiasm for developing technologies, and ability to research best-practices and implementation of such.
- A working knowledge of video editing software such as Premiere Pro and After Effects.
- Good working knowledge of content creation processes and technologies.
- Familiarity with online content banks and software such as Canva, Adobe Suite etc.
- Ability to use content authoring tools such as Articulate360: Storyline or Rise.
- Knowledge of the principles of UDL (Universal Design for Learning) and UX (User Experience).
