Pre-Construction & Innovation Graduate
The Pre-Construction & Innovation Graduate will play pivotal role in supporting the Innovation team in identifying, testing, roll-out and day-to-day management of products, design methodologies, and pre-construction reviews of Development projects.
This role exposes successful candidate to all parts of the process allowing to gain invaluable knowledge and experience, while contributing to process improvement. It allows graduate to develop a mixed blend of technical, project management and people skills, as well as ability to collaborate closely with various groups internally and externally.
This role is split between site, innovation centre and central office, will require travel to other sites from time to time, therefore a full driver's license and access to a vehicle will be required.
This is an 18 month fixed term contract.

Key responsibilities:
Innovation & Continuous Improvement:
- Support in Managing the Innovation Centre & associated activities, organising samples and visits.
- Support in arranging external visits & initial engagement with external companies that have innovation products
- Support testing of new construction products and solutions through direct engagement with internal teams and external vendors,
- Project manage and coordinate - New Innovations within the established Cairn Innovation Framework. Developing designs prior to their integration into use on a site project.
- Meeting and developing product suppliers and subcontractors to organise design integrations and to evaluate their products
- Preparing implementation plans for innovation projects, when they are proposed to be used on site, which contains, risks opportunities, costs, technical challenges.
- Coordinate, program and provide oversight of Cairn innovation activities, on site and in R&D development. Maintain a Yearly Program for each project.
- Collaborate with procurement and commercial teams to establish a realistic and accurate budget for design materials, products and systems solutions planned for each development, prior to their use.
- Work with the Digital Construction Manager, to integrate the standards, into Cairn Digital Library.
- Support internal Sustainability team in implementation of Sustainability Strategy across the business.
Design management:
- Support roll-out of Cairn standard design and support implementation where appropriate to ensure consistency and best practice,
- Support Pre-construction team to coordinate overall management of pre-construction design,
- Support development of Design Guidance Drawings and BIM Models to brief design teams.
Qualifications
- Degree / Higher Diploma qualification in Architectural Technology / Construction / Engineering / BIM or construction related discipline.
Technical Skills
- Technical understanding of design and construction of houses and apartments,
- Proficient in use of Autodesk Revit and Autodesk AutoCAD.

Desirable experience
- Experience in architectural and/or MEP design,
- Experience in use of Autodesk Construction Cloud,
- Experience with scripting and programming in Python/Dynamo to automate BIM processes,
- Experience with Data Management and Analytics,
- Interest in emerging technologies, data, machine learning, generative design.
