Post Doctoral Researcher - A GeoAI-Powered Digital Twin of Ireland's Renewable Gas Infrastructure
This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated Postdoctoral researcher to play a leading technical role in the development and delivery of the DIGIGAS project, which aims to design and implement a GeoAI-powered digital twin to support Ireland's renewable gas infrastructure planning and decarbonisation strategy.
The DIGIGAS project is co-funded by Research Ireland and Gas Networks Ireland under the Research Ireland - Gas Networks Ireland Innovation Challenge, addresses critical national challenges, including biomethane integration, methane leakage detection, climate risk resilience, and data driven infrastructure optimisation. The project is delivered through collaboration between academic researchers, industry stakeholders, and policy actors.
The Postdoctoral researcher will contribute to the design, structuring, development, and deployment of the DIGIGAS digital twin platform. This will include responsibility for integrating multiple data sources, designing technical workflows and system architecture, developing analytical and data processing pipelines, and supporting prototype implementation and refinement. The successful candidate will work closely with the PI and Co-PI and contribute to applied research activities, technical system design, project deliverables, and dissemination outputs.
