We are hiring for a Contracts Manager to join our team in Cork.

Key Responsibilities as Contracts Manager will include :

General
  • Overall project team leader on each assigned project
  • Always represent Clancy in a professional manner and carry out their duties in the best interests of the company, to promote Clancy company core values
  • Carry out all work as per the requirements of the Clancy Integrated Management System
  • Ensure that the company quality, environmental, and safety standards are implemented and maintained on all sites
  • Form effective relationships with other Contracts Manager's within Clancy to share knowledge and create increased levels of consistency across projects


Preconstruction
  • Develop the overall Project Execution plan including all H&S, Design, Procurement, Project Controls, Logistics, Temporary works, Constructability, Quality & Turnover
  • Advise statutory authorities & key stakeholders of site start date
  • Agree employee resource plan with the Regional Director
  • Responsible for setting the design strategy, including BIM, DRM, and scope of novated services (If part of project scope)


Construction & Design
  • Execute the project in line with the Project Execution plan (PEP) including all H&S, Design, Procurement, Project Controls, Logistics, Temporary works, Constructability, Quality & Turnover
  • Responsible for the overall HSE on site
  • Manage S/C including S/C progress meetings and S/C pre-order meetings
  • Prepare a baseline programme prior to commencement on site, monitor and update the baseline programme on a regular basis, ensure that fortnightly programmes are prepared in line with the baseline programme and that milestone target dates are met
  • Ensure all programme planning is carried out in line with Clancy requirements
  • Prepare progress reports on a fortnightly basis and issue to both the design teams and project site teams
  • Ensure each project has adequate resources e.g., manpower, plant, subcontractors, materials, facilities and management
  • Liaise with the client, design team, local authorities and utility companies
  • Ensure that the quality of workmanship is maintained at a high level at all times
  • Liaise with the relevant Director regarding employment and performance management of all Colleagues
  • Monitor the financial performance of the project from commencement to the end of the defects liability period
  • Ensure that all necessary contractual correspondence is issued effectively
  • Actively attend design team or client meetings when required
  • Chair fortnightly or weekly site team meetings
  • Submit and present bi-monthly reports as required by the Clancy management system.
  • Support all members of the site team in all aspects of duties as required
  • Manage all snag items within the defect's liability period
  • Request a written reference from the client or design team upon project completion
  • Cooperate with all various departments within the Company
  • Ensure all sites achieve Clancy KPIs and objectives


Qualifications/Experience:

  • Degree (or equivalent) in Civil or Structural Engineering / Construction Management or a related discipline.
  • 10 years' + experience in healthcare / commercial / residential construction - ideally within a main/specialist contractor.
  • Demonstrated in-depth knowledge of the construction industry and project execution.
  • Strong knowledge of Safety management and Quality management systems and practices.
  • Excellent communication skills - spoken and written. Fluency in English is required.
  • Team player with ability to build effective relationships at all levels.
  • Ability to lead with confidence, mentor and motivate Colleagues.
