The Senior Associate - Fund Operations (Audit Oversight) primary responsibility will be to assist the Manager - Fund Operations (Audit Oversight) in the management of the annual and semi-annual audit process across managed funds within the Waystone Management Company business, covering both AIFM and UCITS Management Company responsibilities. This role will involve ensuring the integrity and regulatory compliance of the financial statements produced across the managed funds.

The Senior Associate - Fund Operations (Audit Oversight) primary responsibility will be to assist the Manager - Fund Operations (Audit Oversight) in the management of the annual and semi-annual audit process across managed funds within the Waystone Management Company business, covering both AIFM and UCITS Management Company responsibilities. This role will involve ensuring the integrity and regulatory compliance of the financial statements produced across the managed funds.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Scoping, co-ordination and delivery of the annual audit plan across the managed funds.
- Review of both audited and unaudited financial statements across the managed funds.
- Preparation and Presenting of any materials required in order to assist in the sign off and approval of financial statements as requested by the relevant fund board.
- To assist with the winddown and liquidation process for terminating funds.
- To work in a consultative manner on VAT matters with the responsible person for VAT.
- Collaborate closely on a regular basis with service providers (including Company Secretaries, Administrators, Auditors and Investment Managers) and internal teams (including Relationship Management) to produce, submit and distribute required Financial Statements for funds and SPVs to the satisfaction of their Directors.
- Assist with the design and implementation of internal operating procedures & controls, ensure on-going adherence to policies and co-ordinate with other internal teams to ensure successful servicing of Funds and SPVs on compliance, monitoring and regulatory reporting matters.
- Liaise closely with the various internal teams, covering Operations, Compliance, Relationship and Risk teams to evaluate the financial risks and operational risks of each client on an on-going basis, resolving and escalating to the Director as appropriate.
- Keep abreast of regulatory changes that effect the financial statement process.
- Actively question methods and processes with the key to making the team more effective and efficient.
- Aspire to be the technical expert in UCITS and AIFs, especially with respect to operational risk management.
- Actively participate in meetings, prepare and attend technical training.
- Assist colleagues when capacity permits with ad hoc projects.
- Foster positive team environment and ensure open communication.
- Assist in the development, implementation and monitoring of policies and procedural manuals
- Establish standards of service for customers or clients and lead quality of service.
- Communicate with clients to ensure satisfaction with the service provided and to resolve any potential issues.

Experience:
- Min 6 years' experience within a Fund Admin environment or Accounting Practice.
- Candidate should have a client-facing background, networking skills, be highly motivated, and adept at building relationships.
- Knowledge of Financial Reporting delivery and reporting in addition to audit experience.
- Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment, including reporting and providing support to various members of the team.
- Outstanding time management, organizational skills, oral/written communication skills, critical thinking and attention to detail is required.
- Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment including reporting and providing support to various members of the team.
- Strong MS Office and Analytic Skills; mid-level information management software experience required.
Education:
- A degree in Finance or Accountancy, and a qualification as a Chartered Accountant, Certified Public Accountant, Chartered Financial Analyst or Chartered Alternative Investment Analyst
