Job Purpose
The Chemical Production Operator is part of a team of operators, based in Foynes, who are responsible for the safe handling of the raw materials, manufacture of batches and loading and unloading of Bulk liquids, as well the filling, loading, and other operations related to the transport of these products from Foynes including shipping duties.

Job Purpose
The Chemical Production Operator is part of a team of operators, based in Foynes, who are responsible for the safe handling of the raw materials, manufacture of batches and loading and unloading of Bulk liquids, as well the filling, loading, and other operations related to the transport of these products from Foynes including shipping duties.
Principal Responsibilities
- Adhere to company Health and Safety Policies and comply with all company regulations.
- Follow the procedures for manufacturing, testing, labelling and loading of product as outlined by the quality department documentation
- Filling/ loading and unloading of chemicals into tankers/ trucks for transport to customers
- Shunter and Forklift driving
- Use of pumps, valves, compressors and batch controllers for liquid transfer
- Waste management of both chemicals and general waste
- Stock taking, recording data, transferring data/information to parent site in Shannon
- Communication with ships, hauliers and parent company
- Directly involved with the offloading of material through our shipping partners, which will include occasionally working unsociable hours
- There may be a requirement to carry out similar duties in the Shannon facility or on a customer facility
- All employees are responsible for workplace health and safety, as outlined in the Company Health and Safety Statement.
- Perform other duties or responsibilities as assigned to support the overall goals and objectives of the organisation.
- The company operates a shift system, and employees can be asked to work the shift cycle if required. When working a shift there will be a shift allowance. The employee needs to be flexible in their working hours.
Person Specification
Education
- Leaving Certificate is required
Skills & Experience
- Experience of working as a Chemical Operator and handling of Corrosive Chemicals
- Experience of operating a forklift and other machinery - e.g. Shunter, Teleporter, MEWP - is desirable but not essential
- Past experience of using pumps, valves, compressors and batch controllers for liquid transfer
- Proficient in the use of Safety Data Sheets for chemicals, the use of personal protective equipment and a strong knowledge of the requirements of transporting hazardous loads by road
- Practical experience of working in an environment where manual operations were extensively used
- Good IT skills including experience of working with ERP systems and MS Office applications including Word and Excel
- Candidates must already possess the right to work in the EU
Training & Certifications
- Current Forklift Licence with recent experience of forklift driving
- Evidence of having completed Chemical Awareness Training
- Current Manual Handling training certificate
