Post-Doctoral Researcher School of Food and Nutritional Sciences

University Vacancies Ireland
Cork, Cork, Ireland Temporary
Reference: 1665029461

Applications are invited for a Post-Doctoral Researcher to join a Research Ireland-funded project focused on characterising the gut bacterial lipidome.

This role will focus on the computational analysis of LC-MS lipidomics datasets, with particular emphasis on untargeted high-resolution mass spectrometry data generated using Agilent and Waters platforms.

The successful candidate will contribute to the development and implementation of robust, reproducible workflows for lipidomics data processing, annotation, and interpretation. A key aspect of the role will involve applying and extending tools such as Skyline, MZmine, and custom scripts (e.g. in R or Python) to streamline large-scale data analysis.

We welcome applications from candidates with backgrounds in bioinformatics, computational biology, analytical chemistry, or related disciplines who have experience working with LC-MS datasets. Experience in lipidomics or metabolomics is particularly desirable, and candidates with an interest in developing computational approaches for mass spectrometry data analysis are encouraged to apply.
