Cybersecurity Engineer - Critical Infrastructure

EXO ARNVIND is partnering with a leading technology and cybersecurity services provider in Ireland to identify their next Cybersecurity Engineer.

Our client is a trusted advisor to organisations across healthcare, finance, manufacturing, utilities, and government, helping them defend against evolving threats and secure mission-critical systems.

This is a hands-on, high-impact role where you will work at the intersection of cutting-edge technology and real-world security challenges-protecting sensitive data, safeguarding financial transactions, and ensuring the resilience of essential infrastructure. If you are passionate about cybersecurity and thrive in a dynamic environment where no two days are the same, this is an exceptional opportunity to grow your expertise while making a tangible difference.

The Opportunity

As a Cybersecurity Engineer, you will serve as a subject matter expert, leading projects that strengthen security postures for both internal teams and external clients. You will collaborate with IT, managed services, and stakeholders to assess risks, implement solutions, and respond to incidents-all while staying ahead of emerging threats. This role is ideal for a proactive problem-solver who enjoys diving deep into forensic investigations, conducting penetration tests, and advising on advanced technologies like AI. With a focus on continuous learning and improvement, you will have the chance to shape cybersecurity strategies and drive meaningful change across the organisation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, implement, and optimise security measures across systems, networks, and applications to enhance protection, performance, and availability.
  • Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation, including technology evaluations, incident reports, vulnerability assessments, and cybersecurity program plans.
  • Perform regular vulnerability scans and penetration tests using industry-standard tools (e.g., Nessus, Nmap, Wireshark) to identify and remediate risks.
  • Lead forensic investigations into cybersecurity incidents, analyse threats, and execute incident response and disaster recovery efforts to minimise impact.
  • Advise clients and internal teams on integrating advanced technologies while mitigating security and privacy risks, with a focus on emerging trends like AI.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams-both technical and non-technical-to promote cybersecurity best practices and foster a culture of security awareness.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients and colleagues, ensuring alignment on security objectives and delivering exceptional service.
  • Champion the organisation's cybersecurity vision, driving initiatives that enhance resilience and protect critical assets.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field or equivalent professional experience.
  • Minimum of 3 years of hands-on experience in cybersecurity, with a strong understanding of security principles and practices.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft's security suite, including Defender Products, Purview, Mobile Application Management, Microsoft Information Protection, and Sentinel.
  • Experience working in production environments with technologies such as SIEM, EDR, Active Directory, and Entra.
  • Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think critically and develop innovative solutions.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey complex security concepts to diverse audiences.
  • A client-focused mindset and a commitment to delivering high-quality service in fast-paced, high-stakes environments.
  • A genuine passion for cybersecurity and technology, coupled with a drive for continuous learning and improvement.
  • Strong attention to detail and a proactive approach to process optimisation and risk mitigation.

What You'll Gain

  • The opportunity to work on high-profile projects that protect critical infrastructure and sensitive data across multiple industries.
  • A collaborative and dynamic work environment where your expertise is valued, and your contributions have a direct impact.
  • Exposure to cutting-edge technologies and the chance to stay ahead of the curve in an ever-evolving field.
  • Professional growth through hands-on experience, mentorship, and the ability to shape cybersecurity strategies.
  • A culture that encourages innovation, continuous learning, and a passion for excellence.
