About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Diesel Mechanic / Generator Service Engineer to join a growing team servicing and maintaining generators across the Leinster region. Based in Laois, you will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, diagnostics, and repair of diesel-powered generator systems across a variety of client sites.

This is a field-based role with strong independence, variety, and the opportunity to work with high-performance power generation equipment across commercial, industrial, and critical infrastructure environments.


Key Responsibilities

  • Service, maintain, and repair diesel generators at customer sites

  • Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and fuel system faults

  • Carry out preventative maintenance schedules and emergency breakdown repairs

  • Commission and test generator sets following installation or repair

  • Ensure all work is completed safely and in line with compliance standards

  • Maintain accurate service records and job reports

  • Liaise with clients to provide updates and technical guidance when needed

  • Manage company vehicle stock, tools, and equipment


Requirements

  • Qualified Diesel Mechanic or Heavy Vehicle Technician (or equivalent experience)

  • Strong knowledge of diesel engines and generator systems

  • Experience in field service or plant/industrial maintenance preferred

  • Ability to troubleshoot electrical and mechanical systems

  • Full clean driving licence

  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently

  • Good communication and customer-facing skills
