Key Responsibilities
Main Responsibilities:
-Function as a Tendering Electrical Engineer within TLI Tendering Team
-Detailed review and familiarisation of all project employers requirements, specifications, and preliminary drawings & calculations.
-Ownership of all elements of electrical engineering tender requirements as part of the tender submission
-Risk identification and mitigation
-Understand the commercial fundamentals of a project and a tender submission
-Work closely with the tendering team, operations, engineering and commercial teams to prepare accurate and technically compliant tender submissions
-Coordinate the electrical, civil, cable and OHL engineering interfaces during the tender process
-Liaise with equipment vendors, design consultants and other third parties as part of the tender process
-Review offers and quotations from equipment suppliers and design consultants to ensure they are technically compliant and commercially competitive
-Identifying value engineering opportunities where possible.
-Provide input into the tender program and engineering budget from an engineering and electrical design point of view
-Attend tender and post tender meetings
-Ensure compliance with relevant standards and regulations.
-Promote a safety culture and safe working environment.
-Business Development & client liaison where required.
-Contribute effectively as part of a multidisciplinary design team taking responsibility for all aspects of tender electrical engineering outputs.
-Support the operations and project team in terms of handover of a successful tender
-Keep up to date on innovative technologies, build techniques and design innovations to drive improvements in cost, quality, and timescales.
About the role
As part of the growing Tendering and Engineering Team here at TLI Group we are currently recruiting for a Tendering Electrical Engineer to join the team. The successful candidate can be based in one of our multiple offices across the country. Options for hybrid working. Travel to and from site may occasionally be required, but this will be predominantly an office-based position.
As Electrical Engineer, the successful candidate will be taking on an electrical engineering role on major Power, Renewable & Substation project tenders. You will be responsible for undertaking and managing all electrical engineering requirements and deliverables on substation and renewable project tenders. You will ensure that all electrical engineering elements of tender submissions meet the required client/Eirgrid/ESB tender specifications.

Qualifications and experience:
- Honours Degree (or higher) in Electrical Engineering
- 3+ years industry experience in substations, high & medium voltage, and renewables projects
Knowledge:
- Experience of the tendering process and producing technical tender submissions.
- Knowledge of the substation, utilities, and renewables sector.
- Proficient use and knowledge of software such as AutoCAD, ePlan, MS Office, (experience with design studies and cable design software would be an advantage)
- Familiarity with current ESB/Eirgrid specifications & design requirements would be an advantage.
Skills:
- Appreciation of the design / construction interfacing requirements
- Well-developed client facing skills with a client orientated approach.
