Clinical Scientist - Molecular Genetics
Purpose of the Role:
The purpose of this post is to be responsible for the selection, analysis, interpretation and accurate reporting of genetic tests as required to answer the clinical question. They play a lead role in the day to day running of the service by working closely with other members of a team to ensure the provision of an accurate, timely and high quality diagnostic genetic service.
Essential Criteria:
• Degree in a biological science or equivalent
• Previous genetic laboratory experience
• Excellent knowledge of clinical cytogenetics and/or molecular genetics
• Excellent written skills
• Good computer skills/IT literacy
• Meticulous attention to detail
• Conscientious, honest and respectful
• Good communication skills
• Good organisational and time management skills
• Good problem solving skills
• Adaptable and flexible
• Ability to work independently and as a wider team
