Purpose of the role
This role integrates the functions of Orthopaedic Access Initiative Lead and Patient Navigator within Spinal/Orthopaedic Services. The post holder will provide operational leadership for access initiatives (including insourcing/outsourcing and waiting list management) while acting as a central patient navigator to support children, young people and families through complex orthopaedic care pathways.

- Improve timely access to orthopaedic and spinal services
- Enhance patient and family experience through coordinated navigation support
- Ensure effective utilisation of national and international care options
- Drive quality improvement, service redesign, and operational efficiency
Essential Criteria
- Achieved Leaving Certificate or equivalent qualification not less than Level 6 in the QQI framework or equivalent qualification.
- Have at least 3 years relevant experience within a hospital setting with a minimum of one year at grade V level.
- 1 year management / supervisory experience
- Have a high level of organisational skills.
- Have excellent knowledge of waiting list management and associated policies
