Applications are invited for a Research Support Officer to join a Department of Agriculture, Food and the Marine (DAFM)-funded interdisciplinary project involving UCC, Teagasc, and University College Dublin (UCD), focused on mapping PFAS contamination across Irish agriculture and food systems (MaPFAS)
The successful candidate will provide specialist analytical chemistry and mass spectrometry expertise to support the project's research activities. Working under the direction of the Principal Investigator, the appointee will support the development and implementation of analytical workflows for the detection, quantification and characterisation of PFAS in environmental, food, feed and biological samples.
The role will involve operation, maintenance and optimisation of advanced liquid chromatography-high resolution mass spectrometry (LC-MS/HRMS) instrumentation, implementation of quality assurance procedures, support of analytical method development and validation activities, and coordination of analytical activities associated with the project. The postholder will work closely with researchers and project partners across UCC, Teagasc and UCD to ensure the generation of high-quality analytical data in support of the project objectives.

Appointment may be made on the Salary Scale: €54,280 p.a. personal rate
