As demand for data-driven insights accelerates, we are looking to hire a Financial Accountant. This is a newly created position to join a progressive business and Finance team.

Job Summary

To be successful in this role, you should have extensive prior experience with ledger accounting and month end processes with an exceptional eye for detail operating in a "scale-up" environment.

Ultimately, you will provide accurate and timely ledger accounting in support to the Chief Financial Officer.

Responsibilities
  • Prepare statutory financial statements (P&L, balance sheet, cash flow)
  • Manage month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes
  • Maintain and reconcile general ledger and control accounts
  • Ensure compliance with IFRS/GAAP and tax regulations
  • Prepare statutory returns and liaise with auditors
  • Analyse financial performance and report to management
  • Support budgeting and forecasting activities
  • Maintain strong internal controls and audit readiness
  • Oversee accounts payable/receivable integrity
  • Support process improvements in financial reporting
  • Workflow Matrix Management
  • Control of Payments / Bank Accounts
  • Understanding of Payroll & Related Activities
  • Key understanding of VAT & Withholding Tax Processing

Requirements
  • Minimum 3-year career experience in ledger and project accounting
  • Excellent knowledge of accounting regulations & procedures, including IFRS & GAAP
  • Hands-on experience with Sage accounting software
  • Experience in Salesforce & CoreTime is an advantage
  • MS Excel skills including Vlookups and pivot tables
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with a client-first mindset
  • Aptitude for numbers and quantitative skills
  • Meticulous attention to detail, critical and strategic thinking
  • Proficient problem-solving ability to navigate complex financial issues
  • ACCA / CIMA or equivalent
  • Experience working with AI to increase efficiency, improve analysis and stay competitive.
