About the Role
We are looking for an experienced baker with exceptional technical bakery expertise to help drive our innovation agenda and shape the future of bakery development.

This role is for a true craft baker and creator. We need someone who is deeply passionate about the technical side of baking, thrives in a hands-on bakery environment, and can translate ideas into outstanding products through skill, experimentation, and craftsmanship.

You will play a key role in developing innovative bakery concepts, leading technical bakery projects, supporting customer collaborations, and mentoring others within the bakery team. The ideal candidate combines strong bakery intuition with creativity, trend awareness, and the confidence to tell compelling product stories to customers.

What You'll Be Doing
• Leading the hands-on development of innovative bakery products and concepts
• Applying deep technical baking knowledge across bread and bakery categories
• Working directly with dough systems, fermentation, ingredients, and process optimisation
• Creating and refining recipes through practical benchwork, testing, and experimentation
• Translating consumer and food trends into commercially relevant bakery solutions
• Supporting strategic innovation projects and customer development initiatives
• Delivering engaging customer presentations, bakery demonstrations, and tasting sessions
• Bringing products to life through strong storytelling and bakery expertise
• Collaborating closely with NPD, operations, commercial, procurement, and culinary teams
• Mentoring and supporting junior bakers within the innovation bakery
• Managing multiple innovation projects while maintaining exceptional bakery standards
• Continuously exploring emerging bakery techniques, ingredients, formats, and global trends

What We're Looking For
• 6+years' experience in a professional bakery environment with strong bread expertise
• Exceptional hands-on technical baking skills and deep understanding of bakery processes
• A true maker and creator with a passion for developing products through craftsmanship and experimentation
• Strong understanding of fermentation, dough development, ingredients, bakery functionality, and process control
• Creative thinker who enjoys pushing bakery boundaries while staying grounded in technical excellence
• Passion for baking, bakery culture, and working in a bakery environment
• Strong interest in food trends, consumer behaviour, and innovation
• Excellent organisation and project prioritisation skills
• Confident presenter and communicator with strong customer-facing ability
• Skilled storyteller who can communicate the craft, inspiration, and technical detail behind products
• Collaborative mindset and experience working cross-functionally
• Comfortable operating in a fast-moving, evolving innovation environment
