Who We Are

(CHI) is leading on the clinical and operational transformation of acute paediatric healthcare and consists of hospitals at Crumlin, Temple Street and Tallaght as well as an Urgent Care Centre at Connolly hospital in Blanchardstown.

CHI at Crumlin serves as the national centre for paediatric bone marrow transplants and cellular therapies - performing over 10 allografts per annum.

Purposed the role

The Fixed-Term Registrar/Senior House Officer in Paediatric Bone Marrow Transplant (BMT) will work closely the paediatric haematology consultants in providing clinical care to children undergoing and who have under gone stem cell transplant.

The registrar/Senior House Officer will be involved in all aspects of patient care, from pre-transplant evaluations to post-transplant monitoring, contributing to the multidisciplinary approach to care as part of a team of consultants, nurse specialists, advanced nurse practitioners, expert laboratory staff and associated professionals .

This is an excellent opportunity for doctors with an interest in paediatric haematology, looking to gain specialised experience in BMT and cellular therapy.

The successful candidate will have the opportunity to participate in regular rteaching sessions, national and international multidisciplinary meetings as well as participating in the audits and quality improvement initiatives or research as appropriate.

This post will be non-rotating allowing for continuity of care for patients over the full duration of the post. Participation in the on-call rota and out hours service would be negotiable.

Essential Criteria:
Medical Qualifications:
  • MBBS or equivalent medical degree.
  • Full registration with the Irish Medical Council

Experience:
  • Completion of intern year or equivalent

Skills:
  • Excellent clinical, diagnostic, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team.

Desirable Criteria:
  • MRCPI or equivalent in Paediatrics or Medicine
  • Experience in haematology OR paediatrics
  • Experience in managing bone marrow transplant patients, including the management of GVHD and other complications.
  • Interest in academic and research activities in the field of paediatric BMT.
