The Purpose of the Role
The Student Counselling Services (SCS) seek to recruit a part-time Project Administrator. As part of the university's new strategic plan, Thrive (2025-2030), the Director of the Student Counselling Services is accountable for leading Project 3.4 "A socially connected university". The main focus of this role will be to work with the Director of the Student Counselling Services, the SCS Strategic Development Manager and the rest of the project team on the Thrive 3.4 Project, providing essential project co-ordination and administrative support. The post-holder will also provide project support to other projects across the Student Counselling Services. This role requires a flexible approach to working hours at peak periods of the project, and to support student meetings/events outside of normal working hours.
Context
The Student Counselling Services (SCS/the Service) is comprised of three functions: Student Counselling, Student Learning Development (SLD) and Student 2 Student (S2S), all supported by a central administrative team. The Service delivers psychological therapy, social transition and academic skills services across the student body using a stepped care model. The SCS sits within Student Services in the Corporate Services Division (CSD).
The Thrive 3.4 Project Team is a small team comprised of staff from the Student Counselling Services, the disAbility Service and the School of Education.
While this post will be based in the Student Counselling Services and will report to the SCS Strategic Development Manager, there will be significant liaison with the full Thrive 3.4 project team and project stakeholders.
The Action Plan for the Thrive 3.4 Project details the following:
1. Identify and implement research-based recommendations to support expanded student engagement, increased community building events and improved use of campus indoors and outdoors.
2. Map and critique existing initiatives (e.g., volunteering, diversity initiatives, accelerator programmes) that support student connection.
3. Co-create and co-design a Student Participation & Belonging Charter.
4. Launch a student-led innovation challenge to generate ideas for enhancing belonging and participation in societies and clubs.
5. Improve access to shared spaces - partner with the Central Societies Committee to streamline processes.
Structures, reporting lines and team assignments may alter in response to the needs and priorities of the University, the Service/Project and students. Flexibility is required in this regard.

Qualifications - Essential
- Primary Degree, preferably in a relevant area (Project Management, Business Studies, Marketing, HR, Finance, IT or Administration).
- A minimum of two years' experience in a busy project support/administrative role, ideally in a HEI setting.
