UCC wishes to appoint an experienced individual to the role of Research Assistant to a Biobank Project Manager. The Research Assistant will have primary responsibility for the processing of samples of human origin and development of associated documentation to support an accredited sustainable biobank structure to ISO 20387:2018. The project Research Assistant will support the Project Manager. The Research Assistant will be based in the Department of Medicine, University College Cork.
The ideal candidate will be proactive, enthusiastic, very organised and capable of managing a diverse workload. They will provide high level competency in the processing of samples, co-ordination of pre- and post-processing SOPs in collaboration with internal and external stakeholders. A candidate should ensure that all processes meet quality practise and data protection standards. They will manage the day-to-day operations relating to this sample processing in accordance with requirements of and integration into an accredited Biobank facility. If required, they will provide support and oversight to additional staff hired to support the process of biobank development.
Please note that Garda vetting and/or an international police clearance check may form part of the selection process.

Appointment may be made on the IUA Salary Scale: €34,129 - €44,311 p.a.
