Nurse
The Nurse will provide and administer a comprehensive nursing service for registered students and provide treatment in cases of emergency within ATU Galway City Campus. Both treatment and preventative elements are part of that service. The nurse will be required to support the contracted medical service. The Nurse will also be required to take a role in health promotion and health education within the ATU. As a nurse-led service, the nurse must:
• be able to function independently and have excellent decision-making skills.
• provide emergency interventions and act as a first responder when required
. • have well developed communication and interpersonal skills.
• work co-operatively with the contracted GPs and with other ATU staff.
• take a leading role in health promotion activities within the University.
