A Senior Technical Program Manager (Sr. TPM) will lead high-impact, large-scale programs across AWS Central Operations' Rack Migrations & Retirements, Installation, and Production Control domains, with a focus on EMEA regions. This role requires strategic leadership, technical program ownership, and cross-functional collaboration to design, deliver, and continuously improve workflows that enable seamless movement of server racks, onboard new data center capacity, and optimize production control processes. You will balance business priorities with operational realities, drive process automation, mentor junior TPMs, and ensure programs align with AWS's reliability, scalability, and cost-optimization goals. As a fungible leader, you will flex across migrations/retirements, capacity installation, and production control initiatives, serving as a key liaison between engineering, operations, supply chain, and leadership teams globally.
Key job responsibilities
Lead end-to-end delivery of migration, retirement, capacity installation, and production control programs from concept to execution across AWS's global infrastructure.
Design and implement technical solutions, including workflow automation, system integrations, and process improvements to enhance capacity delivery, defect mitigation, and operational efficiency.
Collaborate with engineering, operations, supply chain, and leadership teams to align priorities, secure resources, and drive cross-organizational goals.
Proactively identify and mitigate risks for large-scale rack movements, capacity landings, and production control bottlenecks.
Define, monitor, and optimize Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and Organizational Goals (OGs) to track program success and drive continuous improvement.
Author strategic documentation for OP2, 3YP, and leadership stakeholders, synthesizing complex data into actionable insights.
Mentor junior TPMs and establish best practices across migrations, installations, and production control teams.
Serve as the Operational Voice for Data Center Community (DCC) operations, working directly with technicians to resolve escalations and push upstream fixes.
Develop standards and training for data center operations teams, ensuring safety, security, and serviceability of customer capacity.
Analyze trends and data to uncover defects across product life cycles, drive capacity recovery, and optimize marginal costs.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience with advanced use of SQL for data mining and business intelligence, or experience applying key financial performance indicators (KPIs) to analyses
- 5+ years of technical product or program management experience, including managing cross-functional programs.
- 7+ years of working directly with engineering teams to deliver complex technical solutions.
- 3+ years of software development or hardware troubleshooting/development experience
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience in project management disciplines including scope, schedule, budget, quality, along with risk and critical path management
- 5+ years of data center operations experience, including networking, Linux, and hardware troubleshooting
