Strategy & Capabilities Manager
We are currently on the lookout for a Strategy & Capabilities Manager to join our PGCS Procurement team, based in Eastgate.We are the concentrate team in PepsiCo (PGCS) working across the Beverage, Nutrition and Snacks categories to deliver concentrate for many of PepsiCo’s mega brands including Gatorade, 7Up and Pepsi. We are at the heart of PepsiCo products, sourcing ingredients to manufacture more than 1,200 recipes for our brands. As Capabilities Lead, you will be at the centre of Procurement’s transformation agenda bringing the Procurement Strategy to life, ensuring interconnection points and interdependencies are in place to drive the agenda. You will be the key Procurement lead for critical centralized activities, as well as for digital, data and technology advances. The role will work closely with Procurement leaders and other functions to identify opportunities, prioritise the right work and embed practical solutions that improve efficiency, insight, control and value delivery. This role will lead data governance, contract reporting, KPI dashboards, process optimisation and in partnership with IT, the multi-year Procurement digital roadmap, while also scanning the internal and external landscape to bring fresh thinking and relevant innovation into PGCS Procurement.
You will lead a team of 5 data and business analysts and a project manager, setting direction, creating focus and coaching the team as they design, develop and deploy new capabilities, processes and reporting. Responsibilities
Key Accountabilities:
- Shape and lead the Procurement governance and process optimisation agenda, creating clear ownership, practical processes and measurable business impact.
- Lead best-in-class data governance across Procurement data, contract reporting, KPI dashboards and monthly performance reporting
- Lead the capabilities roadmap inclusive of digital data, analytics, automation and technology opportunities & partnering with IT to connect business priorities with the right capability solutions.
- Own the data and analytics agenda, bringing clarity to priorities, scope, deliverables, timelines and value tracking.
- Define the business requirements capabilities that make Procurement more agile, efficient, controlled, insight-led and user friendly.
- Partner with Procurement leaders to shape the multi-year capability roadmap, including upskilling, tool adoption and process maturity.
- Lead change management so new tools, processes and governance routines are adopted and embedded into everyday ways of working.
- Stay close to internal roadmaps and external market developments, bringing proactive ideas and relevant solutions into Procurement and Supply Chain.
- Lead and develop the capabilities team, setting priorities, building momentum, managing resources and tracking delivery progress.
- Connect Procurement capability plans with enterprise transformation roadmaps across Finance, Supply Chain, R&D, Commercial and IT.
- Guide stakeholders through issues, risks and new requirements, helping the business reach practical and timely resolutions.
- Coach and develop team members, building accountability, ownership, curiosity and commitment to PepsiCo values.
- Build clear business cases for technology and capability investment, setting out benefits, resources, risks, implementation requirements and estimated ROI.
- Own Central Procurement GCS controls, including plant data-related controls relating to PIRs for Ireland, Colonia and Arlington.
- Act as Procurement point of contact for S/4 HANA migration, keeping the wider team informed on progress, impacts, resource needs and testing requirements.
- Collaborate with Finance, IT and functional partners to design and embed data governance best practices across Procurement.
- Act as the bridge between Procurement and the IT Data & Analytics operating model.
- Represent PGCS on the Global Procurement Digital Council and other digital and technology forums, giving Procurement a strong voice in enterprise capability discussions.
Qualifications
Essential Criteria:
- University degree in Finance, Business, Business Information Systems, Data & Analytics or a related discipline; Master’s degree preferred.
- Proven experience defining, implementing or influencing digital, data and analytics strategies in a complex business environment.
- Strong understanding and experience of governance, process optimisation, business transformation and change management.
- Demonstrated ability to translate business needs into practical digital or technology-enabled solutions.
- People management experience, with a track record of coaching teams, building capability and creating accountability.
- Highly effective interpersonal, communication and influencing skills across all organisational levels, including executive stakeholders; ability to translate complex topics into clear, concise executive-level communication
- Ability to build credible relationships with Procurement, Operations, Supply Chain, Finance, IT and senior leadership stakeholders.
- High level of business acumen, with strong understanding of value drivers, cost drivers, risk, service and operational performance.
- Strong analytical skills and ability to use data to identify opportunities, frame decisions and track value delivery.
- Organisationally savvy, with the confidence to navigate ambiguity, influence without direct authority and drive progress in a matrix organisation.
- Results oriented, comfortable setting and delivering against bold stretch targets.
- Curious, ambitious with an interest in emerging digital, automation, AI and procurement technology trends.
- Knowledge of procurement processes and activities including sourcing, category management, spend base and tools, preferably in a fast-moving Food & Beverage or manufacturing environment.
