Position Scope/Summary:

The R&D Intern provides support to the R&D engineers in building and testing products and processes.

Supports process development and process improvement initiatives.

Position Requirements:

Employees are expected to support the quality concepts inherent in the business philosophies of the company, including a variety of job related tasks which may not be specific to this position profile.

Office Administrative support, including but not limited to:
  • Perform all duties assigned by the supervisor and engineer
  • Adhere to relevant Standard Operating Procedures and Job Breakdown Sheets
  • Complete and comply with all documentations as required in the documentation process
  • Carry out asset care on equipment and set up machines in job specific areas
  • Be involved in Process Development and Continuous Improvement projects
  • Comply with all quality standards and GMP pertaining to production
  • Help and maintain a clean and safe working environment, ensuring high standards if housekeeping and control of Chemicals
  • Comply with all Integer behavioral standards


Environmental Working Conditions:
This position is in an office environment where considerable time will be spent on the computer and on the phone. Ability to work in a demanding user environment.

Skills and Knowledge

Experienced in medical device manufacturing processes and equipment set-up for guidewires or catheters.

Must be able to communicate and work with people inside and outside the departments while at all times using excellent interpersonal skills and presenting a professional friendly and courteous image of Integer.

Must be flexible on projects to become cross-trained to support multiple process steps.

Requires a high level of dexterity to support a broad range of guidewire and catheter designs.

Be proactive on projects to identify process improvements and areas for improvement in the working environment.

Be conscientious with strong attention to detail. Raise product build and test issues with supervisor or engineer to ensure customer builds are to a high level of quality.

Be quality focused with the ability to follow SOPs and be diligent to documentation

Minimum Education and Experience

Leaving certificate or equivalent

Excellent communication skills

Basic PC skills is required
