Role Overview

We are seeking an Insider Risk & Data Loss Prevention Analyst to join our security organization in Limerick. This role focuses on detecting, analyzing, and responding to insider-related risks, data movement threats, and identity-based anomalies. You will help protect sensitive information, intellectual property, and high-value assets across the business by supporting alert triage, investigations, and operational monitoring. This includes analyzing identity-based attacks and indicators of account misuse, which aligns with industry practices such as examining account takeover, privilege escalation, insider risk, and anomalous user behavior. The role also supports core DLP functions, reflecting the need to prevent unauthorized access, leakage, or theft of sensitive data as highlighted in established DLP guidance

Key Responsibilities
  • Monitor and investigate insider threat indicators, behavioral anomalies, and identity-related suspicious activity. This aligns with common investigative practices for insider-related misuse scenarios and anomalous behavior patterns.
  • Support Data Loss Prevention operations, evaluating events that could indicate data exfiltration, accidental exposure, or misuse of sensitive information-consistent with DLP frameworks designed to protect sensitive data from being lost, stolen, or accessed improperly.
  • Analyze user behavior and contextual risk signals sourced from various systems to identify potential insider threats, in line with approaches where insider risk management tools combine analytics and multiple data sources to build user risk profiles.
  • Assist in investigations involving potential insider misuse, including evaluating whether behavior resembles common risk patterns such as malicious or uninformed insider actions, which many organizations monitor for during DLP reviews.
  • Respond to UEBA and SIEM alerts, collaborating with security teams to validate, escalate, or close events.
  • Support the creation, tuning, and documentation of alerting rules and processes associated with insider risk and DLP.
  • Participate in cross-team collaboration to communicate findings and recommend mitigation actions.
  • Maintain clear records of investigative steps, risk assessments, and remediation actions.

Skills & Competencies
  • Strong understanding of cybersecurity concepts, including data protection, threat indicators, identity security, and user behavior analytics.
  • Ability to analyze moderately complex security events and provide well-reasoned recommendations.
  • Comfortable working within established procedures while contributing ideas for improvements.
  • Effective communication and documentation skills.
  • Ability to collaborate with colleagues across multiple teams on routine security matters.
  • Professional behavior, strong attention to detail, and willingness to develop deeper expertise in insider risk and DLP.

Education & Experience
  • Typically requires 2+ years of experience in cybersecurity, IT security, or related operational security roles.
  • Experience with SIEM/UEBA tools, DLP technologies, or insider threat concepts is beneficial.
