Job Description & Summary
The L&D Business Partner for the Tax Practice will act as the strategic partner to the Tax and Legal Services (TLS) practice, working closely with key stakeholders to identify, design, and deliver effective learning solutions aligned to business strategy, transformation initiatives, and emerging skills gaps. Working with the business, this role will own the development and management of the TLS curriculum plan, ensuring all training programmes, whether technical tax courses or human skills development-are expertly designed, adhere to best L&D practice and are delivered to maximise business impact. The role sits in the L&D Centre of Excellence in BES and works with other LOS L&D BPs to identify synergies and share best practice.

Key Responsibilities:
Stakeholder Engagement / Strategic Insights
- Build strong partnerships with key stakeholders to understand the tax practice and current/future L&D needs, (especially Tax Practice leadership, TLS L&D & People Partners, Channel Leaders, Transformation teams, and external suppliers (e.g., Examfly, external tutors)
- Regularly engage with practice leadership and channel leaders to discuss business. performance, skills gaps, talent development, and transformation impact.
- Translate business and transformation strategy into actionable L&D initiatives supporting skill enhancement and capability development across the practice.
- Conduct Training Needs Analysis as appropriate, focused on the evolving requirements. caused by ongoing transformation within the TLS practice.
- Ensure appropriate L&D Governance is in place.
Curriculum Planning & Resource Management
- Develop, maintain, and manage a comprehensive TLS Curriculum Plan that includes all technical, human, and business skills development programs.
- Consult with Channel leads on the technical L&D plan needed in their area/
- Provide expert L&D advice and best-practice in line with Firmwide Learning Integrity policy, input on course design and modality to content creators and SMEs to ensure engaging, effective learning experiences.
- Curate and source appropriate learning resources, including internal subject matter experts (SMEs) and external providers.
- Manage training assessments and platforms such as Atas Cloud where applicable.
- Instruct /liaise with the People Solutions L&D Operations team on implementation of TLS Programmes/
- Manage the L&D Budget for TLS L&D.
Talent Management
- Support the business, identify and map key talent
- Recommend appropriate development activities to grow talent
- Lead the Key Talent programme nominations.
Collaboration with local and EMEA teams
- Partner with the EMEA TLS team and Channel Leaders to manage nominations and criteria for participation in the EMEA TLS Academy courses.
- Collaborate with the centralised Human Skills programme team to facilitate implementation of Human Skills training within the TLS Lines of Service, including tutor selection and delivery mechanisms.
Learning & Development CoE projects
- Participate as required in other Learning & Development CoE Projects.
