Community Innovation & Enterprise Programme Manager

ALONE supports older people to age at home. We provide direct, frontline services to people aged 60 and over, through support coordination, support and befriending, housing with support, and the application of assistive technology. We have a network of staff and more than 3,000 volunteers across the country. We have been awarded Quality Marks from Volunteer Ireland, the ISO, the Charities Regulator and the Housing Regulatory Standard.

The Community Innovation, Enterprise Partnership Programme manager will oversee ALONE's strategic projects team, associated projects, partnerships and innovation initiatives to enhance outcomes for older people and strengthen ALONE's organisational impact.

The successful candidate will combine strong people and programme management capability with relationship management, systems thinking and innovation. They will work collaboratively across internal teams, external stakeholders, HSE, public bodies, funders, community organisations and corporate partners to deliver measurable social impact.

This role requires an individual who is a critical thinker, strategic, highly organised, relationship-driven and comfortable managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced and evolving environment.

Responsibilities

Strategic Partnership Development

Develop and manage ALONE's strategic partnerships team, and relationships across community organisations, public sector bodies, healthcare providers, academic institutions, funders and corporate stakeholders.
  • Identify opportunities for strategic collaborative programmes, funding, innovation and shared service development.
  • Act as a key relationship enabler with stakeholders, ensuring strong communication, governance and alignment of objectives.
  • Support the development of partnership frameworks, memoranda of understanding, NDAs and collaborative delivery models.
  • Represent ALONE externally at meetings, events, sector forums and partnership engagements.


Project Team Management

Lead strategically important initiatives and programmes of partnership activity across the team from inception through to implementation and evaluation.
  • Manage multiple concurrent programmes of activity across the Community, Innovation, Enterprise and Partnership functions.
  • Oversee the development of project design, scoping, implementation plans, timelines, budgets, risk registers and reporting structures.
  • Oversee and monitor performance, outcomes, KPIs and budgets to ensure successful delivery.
  • Prepare regular progress reports, briefing papers and presentations for senior leadership and stakeholders.
  • Ensure action plans are delivered on time, within budget and aligned with organisational priorities.


Innovation & Enterprise Development

Mobilise evidence and partnership to identify and develop new, improve existing innovative programmes, pilots and enterprise opportunities that support older people and strengthen ALONE's sustainability and impact.
  • Lead the co-design and implementation of new initiatives from concept through to delivery and evaluation.
  • Support the development of scalable and sustainable new or improved service models.
  • Contribute to organisational innovation planning and continuous improvement initiatives.


Stakeholder Engagement & Collaboration
  • Build strong collaborative relationships across internal ALONE teams to support integrated service delivery and organisational culture of learning.
  • Facilitate cross-functional working groups and partnership forums.
  • Promote a culture of collaboration, innovation and continuous improvement.


Communications & Knowledge Sharing
  • Contribute to internal and external communications including E-zines, reports and case studies.
  • Present partnership initiatives and learning at seminars and stakeholder events.
  • Support dissemination of ALONE best practice.


Governance, Impact & Quality
  • Support evidence-based decision making through data analysis, impact measurement and evaluation.
  • Ensure compliance with organisational policies, governance standards and funding requirements.
  • Develop systems and processes that improve operational effectiveness and partnership management.
  • Contribute to strategic planning, organisational development and reporting requirements.


General Responsibilities

  • Undertake any additional duties relevant to the role and organisational priorities.


Essential skills & experience

Experience
  • Minimum 5 years' experience in team, programme, project management, or partnership management.
  • Proven experience leading teams, across strategic initiatives from concept through to implementation.
  • Experience of managing relationships with all levels internal and external stakeholders.
  • Experience working across multiple stakeholder groups, including community, public sector, NGO, health, social care or enterprise environments.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver outcomes in complex environments.
  • Experience in social innovation, service design or enterprise development.
  • Experience in monitoring performance, KPIs, budgets and impact reporting.


Desirable / Non-Essential Skills & Experience
  • Qualification in Management, Business, Community Development, Social Enterprise, Public Policy or related discipline.
  • Experience within the NGO, healthcare, social care, community or social enterprise sectors.
  • Experience developing successful funding proposals, grant applications or partnership funding models.
  • Knowledge of the ageing sector, community development and social inclusion policy landscape.
  • Experience working with CRM systems, data analysis and impact measurement tools.
  • Understanding of governance and compliance requirements within the charity sector.
