Key skills and prior experience that align well with this position:
- Extensive cost management experience in major capital projects, with proven expertise in cost control, budgeting, team management, and a strong track record in data centre or mission-critical infrastructure projects
- Advanced proficiency in cost management and scheduling software (Primavera, Project Cost X, or equivalent) and advanced Earned Value Management techniques to track project performance, analyse cost and schedule variances, and deliver transparent progress reporting against established baselines
- Professional accreditation (MRICS, MSCSI, or equivalent)
- Working knowledge of Infrastructure Guidelines and Capital Works Management Framework (CWMF)
- Experience advising clients on cost risks, value engineering opportunities, procurement strategies, and dispute resolution
- Experience in large and mission critical infrastructure is a distinct advantage
- Strategic leadership and client-facing excellence with the ability to build trust with senior stakeholders, communicate complex cost data clearly, and position Deloitte as a strategic advisor while driving measurable outcomes and accountability
What type of work will I be doing?
- Lead cost management strategy and practice development across projects, establishing standards, processes, and templates that drive consistency and continuous improvement across the division
- Prepare, monitor, and control comprehensive project budgets and forecasts throughout the full project lifecycle from feasibility and business case development through final account settlement
- Develop and maintain scalable cost management systems tailored to client requirements, and champion digital tools and innovation to enhance data accuracy and reporting capabilities
- Build and maintain strategic client relationships, serving as the primary point of contact for all cost-related matters and demonstrating thought leadership in cost management, risk advisory, and value engineering
- Advise on cost risks, procurement strategies, and dispute resolution, integrating with wider Deloitte teams to create robust business cases aligned to industry frameworks
- Mentor and develop your team, promoting best practices in QS methodologies, professional standards, and embedding a culture of continuous learning and knowledge sharing
- Establish and maintain a comprehensive cost database, capturing project costs, productivity metrics, and lessons learned to support accurate estimating and drive organisational capability
