Job Description Specifications Technologist / Internal Auditor Location: Naas, Co. Kildare Contract: Permanent Salary: 42,000 per annum (approx.) Overview A great opportunity for a Specifications Technologist / Internal Auditor to take ownership of product specifications and ensure food products meet the highest standards of quality, safety, and compliance. This role plays a key part in maintaining regulatory standards while supporting continuous improvement across the business. Key Responsibilities Develop and maintain accurate, up-to-date product specifications in line with regulatory and internal requirements Ensure all raw materials and finished products meet required quality and safety standards Conduct internal audits to ensure compliance with company policies and regulatory standards Support and participate in external audits Collaborate with cross-functional teams to maintain accurate and compliant documentation Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives in quality and food safety Review and approve artwork and packaging to ensure regulatory compliance Participate in supplier audits and assessments Maintain up-to-date knowledge of food legislation, labelling, and industry standards Ensure timely and accurate completion of all documentation related to specifications and audits Support new product development and product changes from a compliance perspective Requirements Bachelor's degree in Food Science, Chemistry, or a related field Experience in a food manufacturing environment Strong understanding of quality control and regulatory requirements Knowledge of HACCP, BRC, and other food safety systems Experience with retailer specification systems (e.g., Tesco, Aldi, Lidl, etc.) Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Strong attention to detail with excellent organisational and analytical skills Experience conducting internal audits (preferred) Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment Desirable Experience Knowledge of food legislation and labelling regulations (UK/Ireland) Experience with food product development and project management Familiarity with risk management tools (e.g., FMEA) Supplier management and auditing experience Experience with food safety systems such as ISO 22000, FSSC 22000, or BRC Understanding of food laboratory testing methods and equipment Additional Information Some travel may be required Must have eligibility to work in Ireland Responsibilities may evolve in line with business needs
