Job Description- Lecturer in Global Business
Reporting to: Vice Dean of Business, School of Business and Social Sciences
Purpose of Position:
The primary responsibilities of this position include delivering lectures in Global Business and related disciplines across a range of College programmes, developing curriculum and programme materials, and engaging in scholarly research aligned with undergraduate and postgraduate provision.
The role requires a strong understanding of the global business environment, including international markets, cross-cultural management, global strategy, and economic trends. The successful candidate will possess both the necessary academic qualifications and relevant industry experience, enabling them to integrate theory with practice and prepare students for the demands of an increasingly globalised business landscape. #

Key Responsibilities:
Teaching
* Deliver lectures to students within the School of Business and Social Sciences in Global Business and related areas.
* Support student learning through effective teaching, guidance, and feedback.
* Supervise undergraduate and postgraduate research projects in Global Business and associated disciplines.
* Facilitate skills development workshops, particularly relating to global business competencies.
* Engage in assessment processes, including setting and grading examinations and assignments, attending assessment boards, and liaising with external examiners.
* Provide timely and constructive feedback on coursework, research projects, and dissertations.
* Develop and enhance course materials, incorporating learning technologies and innovative delivery methods.
* Liaise with library services regarding reading materials and resource development.
* Contribute to quality assurance processes in line with College requirements.
* Participate in programme committees and contribute to academic governance.
Programme Development
* Contribute to the development and enhancement of existing programmes and the design of new programmes in Global Business.
* Assist in the preparation of programme validation and review documentation.
* Liaise with accrediting and validating bodies as required.
* Support the promotion, implementation, and ongoing review of programmes.
* Design and deliver curriculum content reflecting contemporary global business trends and challenges.
* Undertake preparation for teaching and associated academic activities, including tutorials.
Research
* Conduct scholarly research aligned with the College's strategic priorities in Global Business and related fields.
* Publish research outputs in relevant academic and professional outlets.
* Present research at academic and industry conferences.
* Actively seek external funding to support research initiatives within the School.
External Bodies
* Build and maintain relationships with relevant academic, professional, and industry bodies in Global Business and associated areas.
* Contribute to programme accreditation processes where appropriate.
* Promote industry engagement to enhance student learning and employability.
General
* Contribute to the strategic development of the School of Business and Social Sciences.
* Act as Programme Director for undergraduate and/or postgraduate programmes, as required.
* Participate in academic committees and School meetings.
* Provide academic guidance and pastoral support to students outside scheduled teaching hours.
* Represent the College at recruitment events, open days, and external engagements.
* Act as a personal tutor to students.
* Contribute to short courses, executive education, and consultancy activities where appropriate.

Qualifications & Experience Required
Essential Qualifications
- A Level 10 qualification in Global Business, International Business, or a related Business discipline.
- A level 8 in a Business-related discipline
Essential Experience and Skills
- Relevant lecturing or teaching experience in higher education.
- Evidence of a developing or established research profile in Global Business or related areas.
- Strong understanding of global business environments, including international markets and cross-cultural dynamics.
- Excellent communication, organisational, and time-management skills.
- Strong digital and IT competencies to support teaching and research.
- Ability to work independently and demonstrate initiative as a self-starter.
