Clinical Facilitator CNM 11 Permanent 35 hours per week
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Clinical Facilitator CNM 11 to join the Bon Secours Health System Hospital Galway. Ireland's Largest Private Healthcare provider.
Job Purpose:
The Clinical Facilitator, as part of the Clinical Practice Development Team is responsible for supporting the delivery of high-quality, safe patient care by promoting excellence in clinical practice, education, quality and professional development. The role involves guiding and supporting nursing staff, facilitating evidence-based practice and ensuring alignment with the values of the Bon Secours values, JCI and HIQA standards to enhance patient outcomes and staff professional development.
Ideal Candidate:
Be registered, or be eligible for registration, in the General Nurse Division of the Register of Nurses kept by the Nursing & Midwifery Board of Ireland [NMBI]
Suitable management experience and / or qualification
Relevant post-registration qualification in education or clinical practice.
Appropriate clinical and managerial skills with evidence of continuing professional development
Essential Qualifications:
Registered in the General division of the Register of Nurses & Midwives maintained by the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland or entitled to be so registered. Registration must be confirmed annually to the DON office.
Have at least 5 years post registration experience in an acute hospital setting
Demonstrated experience in mentorship, preceptorship or clinical teaching.
Suitable management experience and or evidence of a post graduate qualification.
Excellent interpersonal, leadership, accountability and communication skills.
Possess the requisite knowledge and ability including a high standard of suitability with clinical, managerial and administrative capacity to properly discharge the functions of the role.
Candidates must demonstrate evidence of continuous professional development.
Experience & Responsibility:
The Clinical Facilitator (Educator) holding this post is required to support the principle that the care of the patient comes first at all times, will approach their work with the flexibility and enthusiasm necessary to make this principle a reality for every patient to the greatest possible degree.
Provide a high level of professional, clinical leadership, promoting evidence-based practice.
Be responsible for the co-ordination, delivery and evaluation of hospital wide education and professional development programmes.
Practice nursing according to NMBI Professional Clinical Guidelines; local policies protocols and guidelines; and current legislation.
Co-ordinate and plan nursing student placements with our third level education partners, provide support to nursing students, preceptors and the clinical nurse managers to ensure a positive clinical learning environment throughout placement.
Coordinate and support the Graduate Nurse programme in collaboration with the ADON. Provide support for mentors in practice. Co-ordinate their competency documents, professional and personal development.
Lead and coordinate the adaptation programme for Internationally Educated Nurses and be knowledgeable about the assessment and the clinical experiences required to meet the needs of the programme. Work as the candidate nurses named link person and support them in practice to achieve specific competencies.
