Overview
The Law Society of Ireland seeking a highly capable and proactive Operations Business Partner to join our Finance, Operations & Human Resources function. This is a varied and strategic role, combining operational governance, executive support, and people management responsibilities. Working closely with the Operations & Risk Manager and the Director of Finance, Operations & Human Resources, you will act as a trusted partner, playing a central role in ensuring the effective running of governance structures, strengthening subsidiary oversight, and supporting senior stakeholders to deliver organisational objectives.

Main Duties & Key Responsibilities
The successful candidate will carry out the following duties in line with the Society's standards and strategic objectives and as directed by the Operations & Risk Manager.
Operational Governance and Subsidiary Oversight
- Take ownership of governance processes across the function and subsidiary entities.
- Lead coordination of Finance Committees and Boards.
- Plan agendas aligned to priorities and regulatory expectations.
- Review and quality assure Board papers.
- Maintain forward planners and governance records.
- Produce minutes and track actions.
- Liaise with auditors, legal advisers, and stakeholders.
- Improve governance processes and compliance.
Operational Delivery
- Prepare Committee packs and documents.
- Support finance reporting cycles.
- Manage trackers and planning tools.
- Reporting & Presentations as determined by business cycle
Executive Support
- Manage diary and inbox for the Director of Finance, Operations & Human Resources.
- Prepare reports, presentations, and correspondence.
- Coordinate meetings aligned to priorities.
Stakeholder Management
- Build relationships with senior stakeholders.
- Manage sensitive matters with discretion.
People Management and HR Support
- Support recruitment, onboarding, and retention.
- Assist with performance management and employee relations.
- Promote an inclusive and high-performance culture.
Knowledge & Skills
- Minimum three years' experience in operations, governance, EA, or HR role.
- Strong governance and compliance understanding.
- Excellent organisation and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently with discretion.
- Advanced Microsoft Office skills.
Desirable Experience
- Experience in regulated environments.
- Knowledge of finance or legal governance.
- Familiarity with regulatory reporting.
