We are currently seeking experienced and talented Estimators to join our high performing project team in Limerick or Dublin. REPORTING TO: Senior Estimator/Commercial Director
Role Responsibilities
• Prepare detailed and accurate cost estimates by reviewing drawings, specifications, and related tender documentation.
• Identify risks, opportunities, and gaps within tender documents to maximise commercial advantage.
• Source and obtain competitive quotations from subcontractors and suppliers; maintain and update an accurate cost database.
• Analyse and evaluate subcontractor and supplier packages, including risk assessments and value engineering opportunities.
• Collaborate with the Quantity Surveying team during pre-contract negotiations.
• Liaise with the Chief Estimator and senior management on contractual matters, ensuring all submissions and deadlines are met.
• Work closely with the commercial and project teams to agree budgets prior to project handover.
• Manage and control preliminary budgets throughout the tender process.
• Build and maintain strong client relationships during the tender and negotiation stages.
• Compile, analyse, and maintain cost data and benchmarking reports.
• Develop and maintain long-term relationships with key suppliers and subcontractors.
• Monitor market trends, pricing movements, and relevant regulatory or industry changes.
• Ensure all tendering activities comply with company procedures, governance standards, and contractual requirements.
The Candidate
• Third-level qualification in Engineering, Construction Management, Quantity Surveying or a related discipline.
• Minimum of 3+ years' experience in a similar estimating or commercial role within the construction industry.
• Strong knowledge of construction methods, outputs, and current labour, plant and material costs.
• Commercially astute with strong numerical and analytical skills.
• Proficient in data analysis and interpretation.
• Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
• Highly organised with strong attention to detail and ability to manage tender documentation effectively.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
• Methodical approach with a proactive and problem-solving mindset.
• Resilient and capable of working in a fast-paced environment.
