Statkraft are now expanding in a number of European markets and need a Community Liaison Officer to strengthen our Communications and Stakeholder Management division as we proceed through the development phase of projects in Ireland. The team is responsible for the project execution of large renewables projects in Statkraft of wind and solar development from early phase to operations. You will report to the Head of Communications and Stakeholder Management, Ireland.
We are looking to recruit a Community Liaison Officer to be based in Cork or Tullamore in Ireland. The role involves frequent meetings within local communities and with stakeholders in Ireland
Job Description
- Be the single point of contact for local communities where renewable energy projects throughout the country are being developed which includes communicating and informing communities during pre-development and development phases along with gaining feedback on individual and group proposals
- Support the Project Development Teams and Stakeholder Manager while engaging with local communities and individuals in relation to renewable energy projects in their area
- Be an advocate for Statkraft and its projects including building a strong reputation with the local communities
- Develop the understanding of each local community and establish how best to engage with each community in a meaningful manner
- Develop strong long-term relationships with individuals and groups in the local community
- Identify opportunities for the delivery of community gain through collaboration with the local community
- Deliver information on renewable energy projects to local communities; and gather feedback on improvement measures
- Establish the most effective and efficient means of communication with each community through engagement at a local level
- Draft communications material with the project teams including drafting of leaflets, booklets, websites, social media etc. including communications updates and projects progress
- Manage feedback that may arise during the development phase of projects, respond to and ensure actions are communicated to the individual submitting the feedback
- Maintain records of engagement with locals and advise the project teams on community and individual aspirations.
Qualifications
- An excellent communicator with demonstrated ability to engage with individuals on a one to one or group basis
- Work experience in a similar field of working with local communities with an excellent application of Share-point, MS Applications and general IT systems
- An understanding of community dynamics and the ability to work with community groups effectively
- Ability to identify opportunities and work with all stakeholders to deliver on these opportunities
- Keen interest and affinity in working with renewables and the wider area of decarbonisation; including a passion for developing and building the social acceptance of renewable energy infrastructure projects in Ireland and its communities
- Proactive and solution-oriented- a practical doer who delivers quality results on time
- A team player with strong communication, influencing and relationship building skills
- Strong organisation skills and time management skills, with an energetic approach and a proven ability to work to deadlines
- Flexibility to travel to meet with communities as required
- Full clean Irish driving licence
- Experience in working with websites and updating them would be an advantage
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
