Essential:
- Be a registered nurse on the active Register of Nurses/ Midwives held by NMBI (Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland) or be eligible to register
and
- Be registered in the Psychiatric Nursing Division.
and
- Have acquired a level 8 post registration Quality and Qualifications Ireland (QQI), National Framework of Qualifications (NFQ) major academic award relevant to the specialist area - (peri-natal mental health or specialist mental health interventions) prior to application.

- Have extensive experience and clinical expertise i.e. minimum of 5 years (full-time or an aggregate of 5 years' full time) post registration experience in Psychiatric nursing.
and
- Demonstrate a minimum of 2 years' experience working with women in relation to Perinatal Mental Health issues in a specialist unit, or in an acute inpatient service, or in a community mental health team or in an acute community mental health team.
and
- Have the ability to practice safely and effectively fulfilling his/her professional responsibility within his/her scope of practice.
and
- Have evidence of continuing professional development specifically in relation to Perinatal Mental Health care e.g. The Mind Mothers e-learning programme on HSELanD.
