ICON is seeking a transformational and strategically minded Vice President, Billing & Cash Collections to lead and evolve our global billing and collections function. This executive will have end-to-end accountability for billing, invoicing, collections, and cash application, ensuring world-class performance across the revenue cycle while optimizing cash flow, controls, and customer experience. This role operates as a key member of the Finance leadership team. The Vice President will partner closely with senior stakeholders across finance, operations, and commercial teams to drive large-scale transformation initiatives, standardize global processes, and leverage automation and advanced technologies-including AI-to enhance efficiency and scalability.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide executive leadership and oversight of ICON's global billing, invoicing, collections, and cash application processes
  • Define and execute a strategic roadmap to modernize and optimize the end-to-end order-to-cash cycle within a complex, global environment
  • Drive enterprise-wide transformation initiatives focused on process standardization, automation, digital enablement, and cost optimization
  • Partner closely with the SVP, Finance Shared Services and Finance SLT to align billing and collections strategy with broader financial, working capital, and operational objectives
  • Establish and monitor KPIs to improve operational performance, including billing accuracy, cycle times, cash conversion, and reduction of DSO
  • Lead global collections strategy to enhance cash flow, proactively manage risk, and strengthen customer account performance
  • Oversee invoice delivery to ensure accuracy, compliance, and alignment with contractual obligations across diverse markets
  • Champion the adoption of advanced technologies (including AI and automation tools) to streamline processes and drive scalable efficiencies
  • Build strong relationships with key customers, financial institutions, and external stakeholders to resolve issues and enhance service delivery
  • Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements, audit standards, and internal controls across billing and collections operations
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to executive leadership, providing insights, analytics, and recommendations to improve financial outcomes
  • Lead organizational design and capability development of a large, global team, fostering a culture of accountability, innovation, and continuous improvement


Your Profile
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field
  • 15+ years of progressive experience in billing, collections, or order-to-cash, including executive leadership experience
  • Proven track record leading large-scale billing and collections functions in a complex, global organization
  • Demonstrated success driving process improvement through standardization, automation, and AI-enabled transformation at scale
  • Strong technical acumen, including experience with billing and collections systems and digital optimization initiatives
  • Deep expertise in order-to-cash processes, working capital improvement, and cash flow management
  • Experience leading large, global teams within a matrixed environment
  • Exceptional stakeholder management skills, with a consultative approach and ability to influence senior executives
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities, with the ability to operate strategically and execute effectively in dynamic environments
  • Knowledge of financial controls, regulatory requirements, and audit standards related to billing and collections
  • Able to work from the Dublin office 3 days a week
