We are seeking a motivated person with a Data Science background to help democratise access to trusted organisational data through Microsoft Power BI and our Microsoft data environment (Fabric). You will contribute to a variety of data and business initiatives as needs evolve, gaining broad exposure across analytics, reporting, process improvement and financial planning activities.
The role will support Business Intelligence dashboard optimisation, as well as the development and maintenance of datasets, connections, and data pipelines. It will also focus on enabling self-service analytics through clear documentation, user support, and training.
This position is ideal for someone who enjoys combining technical data skills with business-facing problem solving.
Key responsibilities
Data preparation & pipelines
Assist in building and maintaining reliable data pipelines in Microsoft Fabric, combining data from multiple systems into curated datasets. Perform data cleansing, transformation, validation, and publish outputs for reporting.
Power BI reporting & optimisation
Support the development, consolidation and improvement of Power BI dashboards and semantic models. Enhance performance, usability, and consistency using Power Query and DAX.
Quality assurance
Perform data checks and investigate issues to improve reporting reliability (refresh, reconciliation, consistency).
Documentation & handover
Document datasets, report logic, assumptions, and definitions to ensure solutions are maintainable and reusable.
Process improvement
Support the enhancement of reporting and business processes by identifying opportunities to streamline, automate, and enhance them using data-driven solutions.
Advanced analytics
Support data analysis and reporting that informs decision-making, including trend analysis, forecasting support, and contributions to financial planning and performance tracking.
Enablement
Provide support to business users and produce simple guidance to drive self-service adoption.

Skills & qualifications
Essential
- Qualification in Data Science, Statistics, Accounting and Finance or similar
- Strong analytical skills and comfort working with data (cleaning, joining, validating, interpreting, predicting)
- Working knowledge (academic/projects/internship) of:
- Power BI / data visualisation
- Data modelling concepts (DAX exposure beneficial but not essential)
- SQL
- Strong communication skills with the ability to explain data to non-technical stakeholders
- Attention to detail and strong quality mindset
Desirable
- Exposure to Microsoft Fabric / Power BI Service / Microsoft Office Suite
- Python or R for analysis and basic modelling
- Interest in data governance and access control
