The Role:
The Health and Safety area is responsible for ensuring & supporting compliance with company, national & European level health, safety, quality & environmental standards for Uisce Éireann. The team provides governance and specialist advice across the business areas and manages the maintenance and assurance of the quality, environment and energy management systems to ensure appropriate H&S compliance with regulatory requirements.
The EHS team provide support and work to improve the effectiveness of H&S processes, enterprise wide health & safety programmes as well providing governance and specialist H&S advice across assigned business areas.
Reporting to the Health and Safety Lead, the Health and Safety Coordinator is responsible for providing analytical, logistical and data support to the Health and Safety team. The role holder will be responsible for supporting a number of key Health and Safety processes and ensuring governance and reporting on same.

Main Duties and Responsibilities:
- Manage the data requirements relating to Health and Safety inspection and incident processes across the capital areas of the business
- Support the Health and Safety team in the delivery of key health and safety activities to support capital projects/programmes across Asset Delivery, Major Projects & WSP
- Monitor the close out of actions and corrective actions on relevant health and safety tracking systems
- Assist in the input of data, and collation of records, from health and safety inspections
- Provide support to the IMS team in compiling monthly statistics and KPI reports
- Source information for health and safety reporting purposes
- Assist in developing health and safety procedures and processes with the wider Health and Safety Team
- Ensure that key health and safety processes are documented and recorded and that appropriate records are maintained
- Co-ordinate the logistics in relation to internal and external stakeholder safety events and engagements
- Liaise with the Learning and Development team and other functions in relation to the delivery of health and safety training
- Participate in ongoing Health and Safety projects as required
General Duties and Responsibilities
- Collaborate with key internal stakeholders across the UÉ business
- Responsible for promoting and delivering health and safety commitments across UÉ and its supply chain, reinforcing positive behaviours and delivering health and safety objectives and requirements to the highest industry standards.
- Support the delivery of the Uisce Éireann Safety Management System (SMS) driving results required within the business and supporting organisation-wide objectives.
- Support the delivery of the Uisce Éireann Transformation Programme, driving results required within the Directorate and supporting organisation-wide objectives.
- Conducts duties and responsibilities in accordance with Uisce Éireann's Information Security policies, standards, processes and controls to protect the confidentiality, integrity and availability of UÉ business information and delivery of critical services, in accordance with the NIS Directive and any other relevant cybersecurity regulation.
- Other duties as required.
Knowledge, Skills and Experience:
- Strong computer skills with a proficient working knowledge of MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook
- Relevant third level qualification and or accreditation is desirable and or relevant experience
- A minimum of 1 years' Experience in the water, utilities or similar industries is desirable
- Proactive with ability to work on own initiative and with others to ensure success in the performance of a team
- Proven effective time management skills with the ability to prioritise and remain focused
- Proven ability to create and develop good working relationships to facilitate the accomplishment of work goals, coupled with the ability to gain commitment from others
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to convey messages in a clear and concise manner
- Ability to set up ongoing processes and procedure to collect and review information
- Flexible with regard to working in a changing environment and the ability to adjust to new work structures, processes and requirements as necessary
- Proactively identify new areas of learning and using newly gained knowledge and skills on the job
