About the Role
AMTSOL is seeking a motivated Automation Engineer with hands-on Emerson DeltaV experience to support automation projects and manufacturing operations within a GMP-regulated biopharmaceutical environment.
The successful candidate will work closely with Senior Automation Engineers, Manufacturing, MSAT, and Quality teams to implement automation changes, support project execution, troubleshoot system issues, and ensure compliance with site procedures and GMP standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the design, configuration, testing, and implementation of DeltaV automation changes.
- Assist in reviewing and updating Functional Design Specifications (FDS) and associated automation documentation.
- Work with Manufacturing, MSAT, and Engineering teams to understand process requirements and support implementation activities.
- Participate in software testing, commissioning, and deployment activities.
- Support execution of automation projects in accordance with approved procedures and project schedules.
Change Management & Compliance - Support GMP automation change control activities.
- Assist with impact assessments, testing documentation, and implementation plans.
- Execute software deployments between development, test, and production environments following approved procedures.
- Ensure automation documentation is maintained in compliance with site and regulatory requirements.
- Support deviation investigations, troubleshooting activities, and corrective actions where required.
Manufacturing Support - Provide day-to-day support for DeltaV-controlled manufacturing systems.
- Troubleshoot automation-related issues and work with cross-functional teams to identify and implement solutions.
- Support manufacturing campaigns and process improvement initiatives.
- Participate in system maintenance, upgrades, and continuous improvement activities.
- Maintain compliance with GMP, safety, and data integrity requirements.
Qualifications & Experience
- Degree in Automation Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Biotechnology, or a related discipline.
- 3-5 years of automation engineering experience within pharmaceutical, biotechnology, or life sciences manufacturing environments.
- Hands-on experience with Emerson DeltaV systems.
- Experience supporting GMP-regulated manufacturing operations.
- Understanding of automation change control and software deployment processes.
- Experience working with Functional Design Specifications (FDS) and automation lifecycle documentation.
- Ability to troubleshoot automation and process control issues in a manufacturing environment.
