General Operative, South Dublin

Location: Templeogue Dalkey

Contract: Full Time Permanent

The Purpose if this role is to create and maintain a clean and hygienic environment for staff and residents throughout the service, including general areas, offices. To maintain the outdoor areas hygiene and upkeep the garden to include grass cutting and general garden maintenance.

What you will do:

• Work within the framework of the overall aims and objective of Focus Ireland.

• Work within the overall policies and procedures of Focus Ireland, inclusive of Health and Safety Policy.

• Work within the guidelines of the daily routine, as set out by line management or by appointed systems.

• Do a monthly stock check and keep stock records. To be responsible for requesting the ordering of cleaning and gardening materials in a timely manner as required in conjunction with the line manager.

• Keep records and record information relevant to the NQSF cleaning programme requirements.

• Work with other maintenance staff from Focus Ireland’s and to further cooperate with Contractors as agreed with the line manager when required.

• Attend regular supervision and training as agreed with your line manager.

• Clean offices, grounds, clean and prepare houses on and off site when required. 

• Report immediately any hazards or dangers to senior staff.

• Report maintenance requirements to assigned staff.

• Work within a team and co-operate with fellow team members.

• Attend team, divisional and organizational meetings as required.

• Within reason and with prior notice, to be flexible in place and hours of work.

• Work in adherence to Focus Ireland’s ‘Working Alone’ and ‘Confidentiality’ policy.

• Undertake any other responsibilities and duties as may reasonably be assigned by your manager.

  
  

What you will need:

• Good demonstrable verbal and written communication skills.

• Ability to work alone, be self-motivated and work as part of a team.

• Proven previous experience in a similar role.

• An understanding of the client group we work with in Focus Ireland.

• Reasonable demonstrable I.T. skills.

• Manual handling certificate (Desirable)

• Chemical handling certificate (Desirable)
