The Opportunity

This role is a critical member of the GBS Network & Technical Security Team. The team supports a global network spanning 150 locations, ranging from corporate headquarters to major food production plants, warehouses, depots, and retail branches. The network's core infrastructure resides in data centers located in Dublin, Ireland, and Illinois, providing a highly resilient network environment.

Glanbia has embarked on a significant digital transformation with a Cloud-first strategy, necessitating major advancements in Network & Network Security technologies. This role actively participates in this evolution program on a day-to-day basis.

The network plays a crucial role in transmitting data for business-critical applications such as M365, Teams, video conferencing, collaboration tools, Manufacturing Execution Systems, Controls & Automation systems, and SAP. Separate teams within Glanbia support these applications and services, collaborating closely with the Network & Technical Security Team. Together, they ensure an efficient and highly resilient network backbone and foundation for these essential services.

Job Responsibilities

• Support & troubleshoot Cisco network environment located across Ireland, Europe, US & ASPAC
• Support & troubleshoot Palo Alto Firewallestate
• Support & troubleshoot Palo Alto Global Protect Remote Access Solution
• Lead or participate in key deployment projects such as SD-WAN & LAN transformation
• Work both independently and as part of a team in delivering on-time and on-budget network projects
• Provide level 3 network support to Global ServiceDesk on customer network issues relating to LAN, WLAN, WAN, VPN, Firewall filtering & web security/proxy service
• Work closely with managed network and security partners, ensuring they are delivering service to the agreed SLAs, verifying reports from service partners, assessing Root Cause Analysis documents

The Skills you will bring to the team

• Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, or related discipline; or equivalent combination of education and experience
• 5+ years of experience in enterprise routing, switching, and network security
• Vendor management: Experience in a managed-service environment (as a customer or as a provider)
• Strong experience troubleshooting enterprise network & security issues
• Strong working knowledge of firewall design and network security protocols
• Good knowledge of Cisco routing, switching & WiFi protocols
• Ability to document and illustrate network proposals and solutions in an articulate manner
• Ability to communicate ideas and solutions with all stakeholders & customers
• Strong team player & works on their own
