Electrical & Instrumentation Project Engineer (E&I)

Overview

We are looking for an E&I Project Engineer to join our dynamic and innovative team, working on a client site. The E&I Project Engineer will be responsible for managing the implementation of a portfolio of projects onsite, as part of the base capital projects team. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of working with multi-disciplinary engineering project management teams, in the BioPharma, Pharma or Medtech sectors, and supporting capital project execution.


Responsibilities

In line with the job outlined above, the following are typically the key tasks that would be

expected of the role:

  • Be a safety advocate, adhering to and promoting Safety standards throughout.
  • Develop project scopes in collaboration with respective disciplines and end user representative.
  • Provide estimates and technical guidance to user areas for CIR completion. Draft initial CIR presentation for project approval.
  • Generating detailed scope of work Tender and Construction packages.
  • Preparation of E&I Design Deliverables, including E&I Specifications, E&I Block wiring diagrams, Instrument IO lists, motive power schematics, Power Distribution Single Line Diagrams, Electrical Services layouts, Electrical Schedules, load study’s etc.
  • Review of electrical and instrumentation packages prepared by A&E companies.
  • Technical and commercial review of E&I Contractor project bids in collaboration with purchasing to issue contracts.
  • Understand the GMP requirements and ensure the project design complies with them.
  • Understand the local and corporate procedures and ensure the project complies with them. Specifically, comply with the project execution procedure/guideline.
  • Understand the Validation requirements and specifically the URS, DQ, IQ, OQ and IDQ documents.
  • Review the purchasing of major equipment and ensuring compliance with current regulations.
  • Monitor the project for compliance to scope, pricing and schedule.
  • Provide electrical/instrumentation construction management overview for the project.
  • Must be able to work off own initiative and recommend problem solving techniques or implementing solutions to resolve engineering, systems, contractor and vendor challenges that arise on the site.
  • Ensure the E&I maintenance requirements are fulfilled by the project.
  • Site based role.

Qualifications

  • BE degree in Engineering is preferred along with 8 plus years’ experience in E&I Construction environments
  • Candidate must have proficiency in a windows based environment and software (Word, PowerPoint, project, advanced excel and access)
  • Good communication skills essential
