As Head of Compliance, you will serve as the most senior Compliance executive within Macquarie Bank Europe DAC ("MBE"), Macquarie's European banking platform. Based in Dublin and operating across a European footprint that includes offices in Ireland, Paris, Milan and Oslo, you will provide strategic leadership and oversight of the Compliance function across a diverse range of banking, markets and financing activities.

This Director-level role places you at the centre of MBE's governance and regulatory agenda. You will be the primary point of contact for the Central Bank of Ireland, leading the firm's engagement on supervisory matters, inspections, strategic initiatives, remediation programmes and regulatory change. You will represent MBE in regulatory interactions and provide trusted advice to senior management and the Board on significant compliance, conduct and regulatory matters.
You will lead Board and Board Committee engagement on compliance matters, preparing and presenting key reporting, supporting governance initiatives and ensuring effective oversight of regulatory risk across the organisation. Working closely with executive leadership, legal, risk, finance and business stakeholders, you will influence strategic decision-making and help shape the bank's response to an evolving regulatory environment.
The role also carries executive oversight of key regulatory reporting and conduct risk programmes, including transaction reporting governance, market abuse and surveillance frameworks, regulatory remediation initiatives, fitness and probity obligations and significant regulatory change programmes. You will be accountable for maintaining a strong compliance culture while ensuring the organisation remains resilient, forward-looking and aligned with regulatory expectations.
This role reports to the CEO for day-to-day activities, to the Chair on key risk and policy matters, and functionally into the EMEA Compliance leadership team.
The role is a Central Bank of Ireland Pre-Approval Controlled Function (PCF-12), requiring appointment by the Board and approval by the Central Bank of Ireland.

• Significant senior compliance leadership experience within a regulated financial institution, including engagement with Boards, senior management and regulators.
• Deep knowledge of European financial services regulation, with substantial experience dealing directly with the Central Bank of Ireland and other regulatory authorities.
• Proven ability to lead regulatory relationships, inspections, supervisory engagements, remediation programmes and regulatory change initiatives.
• Strong experience overseeing compliance, conduct risk, market abuse surveillance, regulatory reporting and governance frameworks across banking and markets activities.
• Exceptional leadership, communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence outcomes, build strong relationships and foster a positive compliance culture.
