What role will you play?

You will lead the design, implementation, and oversight of a comprehensive compliance framework across a broad range of activities including lending, leasing, trading, and futures, ensuring alignment with regulatory requirements across Ireland and Europe. Working closely with senior stakeholders, including front office teams and the Board, you will provide clear regulatory advice, embed strong conduct risk practices, and enable effective decision-making. You will oversee monitoring, reporting and risk-based reviews, driving timely resolution of issues while strengthening controls and policies to support evolving business needs. In partnership with regional colleagues' senior leadership, including Legal, you will guide the implementation of assess regulatory change, guide its implementation, and ensure the organisation remains proactive and resilient in a dynamic environment
You will also play a key role in promoting a strong compliance culture by developing training programmes, supporting staff in managing risks, and fostering high standards of conduct and engagement across the organisation. This Director-level role reports directly to the CEO for day-to-day activities, to the Chair for key risk and policy matters, and functionally into the EMEA Head of Business Compliance within Commodities and Global Markets.

What you offer

  • Strong experience leading compliance frameworks within financial services, with expertise across European regulatory environments and dealing with the Central Bank of Ireland.
  • Ability to provide clear, practical regulatory advice across complex products such as lending, trading, or derivatives
  • Experience engaging with senior stakeholders, including Boards, and influencing outcomes on risk and compliance matters
  • Proven capability in designing and embedding risk-based monitoring, controls and conduct risk frameworks
  • Strong communication and leadership skills, with the ability to foster a positive compliance culture and support business growth

Our Risk Management Group works as an independent, and centralised function, responsible for independent and objective review and challenge, oversight, monitoring and reporting in relation to Macquarie's material risks. We are a global team that aims to manage the risks of today and anticipate the risks of tomorrow. Our divisions include compliance, credit, financial crime risk, market risk, operational risk, aggregate risk and prudential, and central.
