Applications are invited for a temporary post of a Research Scientist within UCD School of Biology and Environmental Science.
We are looking for a dynamic individual, with a proven track record in cell biology, comparative ageing biology of non-model organisms, and experience in integrating across these diverse fields, to join the Teeling lab at University College Dublin, Ireland. The individual will work with the team and collaborators to ascertain the mechanisms that bats use to slow down the rate of ageing and maintain genome stability. Using state-of-art bioinformatic analyses, advanced cell imaging, comparative cell biology the individual will integrate these heterogenous 'multi-omics' data to ascertain how bats age and tolerate disease, to identify the pathways and regulators that drive bats extended healthspans, focussing on DNA repair mechanisms.
Fixed Salary: €49,500 per annum.
