Director, Employee Benefits Consulting
This is an exciting opportunity to join the Advisory Services team within our Health & Benefits business in Ireland. The role is based from our Elm Park office in Dublin on a Hybrid working basis.
The Director, Employee Benefits Consulting is a senior leadership role within Advisory Services, responsible for delivering strategic consulting, broking, and advisory services to a portfolio of large corporate clients.
This role combines deep technical expertise in employee benefits with strong commercial acumen, owning senior client relationships while driving growth, innovation, and highquality client outcomes. The successful candidate will collaborate across WTW's Health, Wealth & Career business to deliver integrated, forwardlooking solutions to complex people and risk challenges.
The Role
Client Consulting & Advisory
Act as lead consultant and trusted advisor to a portfolio of large corporate clients
Design and deliver strategic employee benefits programmes aligned to client business objectives and workforce needs
Provide expert advice across group risk (Life, Disability, Critical Illness), private medical insurance, and ancillary benefits
Prepare and deliver highquality client reports, renewal reviews and executive summaries
Develop and maintain trusted senior relationships with key stakeholders
Act as primary escalation point for complex client queries and issues
Interpret claims data, market trends, and financial insights to shape strategic recommendations and optimise client outcomes
Lead renewal meetings, tender processes and insurer negotiations on behalf of clients
Challenge insurer terms and pricing to achieve optimal outcomes for clients while building and maintaining strong insurer relationships to secure competitive and flexible terms
Oversee governance and service delivery standards to ensure excellence across scheme administration and client servicing
Mentor junior consultants and support the development of team capability
Contribute to process improvement and bestpractice initiatives across the practice
Growth, Collaboration & Leadership
Retain and grow existing client relationships through proactive engagement.
Influence senior stakeholders across multiple organisational levels
Supporting RfP responses from clients and prospects
Working with our Health & Benefits consultants in a collaborative manner to develop and identify growth opportunities across existing portfolios
Network internally/externally and represent WTW at industry events as appropriate
Strong digital fluency, with the ability to leverage technology and social platforms to enhance business outcomes
Ability to work effectively and proactively connect with internal teams across our Health, Wealth & Career business to develop opportunities.
Compliance & Professional Standards
Ensure all advice and client activity meets Central Bank of Ireland regulations and Consumer Protection Code requirements
Adhere to GDPR and data protection standards at all times
Maintain accurate records within CRM systems (e.g., Microsoft Dynamics)
Maintain required professional qualifications and ongoing CPD
Uphold WTW's quality, risk, and compliance standards
What you'll bring:
Experience & Qualifications
Qualified Financial Adviser (QFA) and/or APA (mandatory)
Significant experience in a client-facing health, risk, or benefits consulting role within the Irish market
Proven track record managing large and/or multinational corporate clients
Strong technical expertise across group risk and/or private medical insurance
Demonstrated experience leading complex renewals, tenders, and insurer negotiations
Strong understanding of Irish regulatory and compliance frameworks
Experience influencing senior stakeholders and acting as a strategic advisor
Track record of contributing to client growth, retention, and commercial success
Experience mentoring or leading junior team members
Skills & Competencies
Proven experience in managing large Risk and/or Healthcare clients
Strong consultative, analytical and problemsolving skills
Skilled in managing multiple stakeholders, people, and projects simultaneously, consistently delivering high quality outputs on time and within budget.
Commercial responsibility (revenue, portfolio value)
Excellent written and verbal communication and presentation capability
Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fastpaced environment
Confident, professional and collaborative working style
